MMM - Rear or Side Discharge

I have a TC 24D with the 60" RD MMM and am not that happy with it's performance in damp, moderately thick grass. Previously, I mowed with a Kubota BX 2200 w/ a 60" side-discharge MMM. The Kubota handled the damp, thick grass much, much better. If the grass is absolutely dry, the NH deck is fine. I specifically asked the dealer about the rear discharge deck's ability to handle thick, damp grass and was assured it would be "no problem". My dealer doesn't know it yet, but tomorrow morning he is going to order me the side-discharge deck and swap it for me at no cost. Hope this helps

The 60" version isn't adjustable. Also came with normal blades, I guess it's a tad different than it's big brother.

I'm very happy with my 60" RD MMM. I try to mow on a regular schedule, although, just got back from vacation & it's a little tall now. Thunderstorms are threatening, so I'm here on tbn instead of out mowing.

I know I've mention in a couple of post that even my TC33 and the 72 inch MMM needs to be cranked up to keep going. My brother in-inlaw has the side discharge and does seem to get on with it better. However, he can't mow any direction and not throw grass on the house or cars.. Sometimes I think a 72 on a 33 is pushing it.... especially if it is wet or getting a little high...
