Tractor
Mahindra 6520 4WD
I have have been wanting to make more diesel storage and an easier way than lifting 5 gallon jugs of fuel. I picked this aluminum L tank last spring at a RB Auction. 4-3-20 Transfer Tank Back.jpg4-3-20 Transfer Tank Corner.jpg4-3-20 Transfer Tank End.jpg

I used home cut 2x4s and 2x6s over 4 inch (actually 4.5 inch) square skids. I brushed on 3 coats of Copper Naphthenate 8% (68% by Volume) Concentrate. It is diluted one gallon of concentrate to 3 gallons of diesel.

It truly stinks as the smell came through 2 pairs of rubber gloves and made me very happy, even while wearing a half face respitator. I can't imagine any bugs or even critters trying to get under this stinker.

I will be installing this 15 gpm pump this, rainy, weekend.4-3-20 Transfer Pump In A Box.jpg

So I will be able to put the forks on the Mahindra and load or unload it, or fuel my toys, eh....machines.

I put plywood sides on mine to help protect against denting should I screw up and bump into it with my pallet forks or anything else. I also made a steel wheeled dolly to set it on so I can wheel it around the shop. It's very handy and sure beats lifting heavy 5 gallon fuel containers. You are gonna like it.

Skipper B,
Plywood sides is a good idea. Mine is gonna be stored outside and I will put a tin roof on it.

I made mine with a 50 gal. Reefer tank in a wooden frame. I put it on two HF dollies in the shop so easy to move wherever needed.

Once, I bid on a pair of 50 gallon aluminum saddle tanks. I was outbid.

How about posting photos of your reefer tank?

Nice job! Thanks for posting. I’m always looking for ideas for a fuel station.

I put mine on a used second hand Harbor Freight trailer frame - so I can tow it around as needed, move it around in the garage etc. Split setup, 75 gal diesel, 75 gal unleaded.fuel trailer (1).jpgfuel trailer (2).jpg
