Cleaning gutters is pretty much at the top of the list. Have gutters on the house, cabin, barn, chicken coop, shop, two mobiles. :thumbdown:

When I clean gutters I always use a shop vacuum. It works better if you flood the gutters with water and then vacuum up the sludge and you have a perfectly clean gutter.

for me its cleaning/clearing "catch all" surfaces...be it the desktop, workbench, misc. horizontal surfaces...any place that "stuff" that really has no designated place of its own gets tossed...

...most household chores I can make short work of...but it's finding a place to put all the "stuff" that gets tossed on the workbench etc. that takes me the longest to clean up...

...and like many others I hate to throw anything away because regardless of how many years it has "sat around"...as soon as I throw it away...it will only be a day or two before I will be kicking myself because it is exactly what I need(ed) for whatever the present project is...

...in the same respect...as soon as I move something (that has sat in the same place for eons) it only takes a day or two before I can't find it...and I know I didn't throw it away...(it's against my religion)...

anything that has to do with changing or replacing something around the house simply because the wife is tired of looking at it, not as though it really need replacing/changing, for instance re-painting walls because she tired of looking at the color we previously painted 6 months ago only because she was tired of that color on & on etc,etc, I bet in past 12 years our living room walls have 15 coats of paint Lucky for me the carpet and hardwood floors are too expensive to replace every year

Wife's at home ordering curtains as I write this. I've never had a colonoscopy. Is getting one a good enough excuse to get me out of hanging curtains?

I had one.....Do yourself a favor and hang the curtains.

In all honestly get the Colonoscopy, you need to know.....The worst thing about it is the stuff you have to drink to clean your self out and that's the truth!

Then go home and act super violated..that should buy you some time..

Mark...I am with you on that...it has gotten to be chore...Bush hogging for 7 hours or so at a time just gives me 7 hrs. or so to be thinking of all the things I would much rather be doing...I have been doing it for 30 yrs. now ...so a little bit goes a long way kinda thing...

In our hold house with gutters I would climb up on the roof when we got heavy snow falls and clear off the snow. The neighbors thought I was nuts but I knew what happens when the snow melts, freezes in the gutters, and the more snow melts.

Thankfully it was a 3/12 or 4/12 pitch roof so it was not hard to walk on. Still not fun.

The new house has NO gutters. Ice dams is one of the reasons why no gutters.

Hated house hold job would have to be mowing with the DR. That thing is a beast. I let the grass/weeds grown until I have time to cut them so it can be slow cutting with the DR. I have only cut the grass twice this season. My back must be getting better because I was able to mow for 3.5 hours the other day. Before the most I could do was 2.5 hours and I would really feel it for a couple of days. Last time was not bad at all.

Still don't like it though.

+1 on you need to know, buried a friend who didn't get one did not find the cancer until it was too late.

Back when I used to live where there was snow I cleaned it off my roof one time and that was enough. The next year I went out and bought gutter heaters. It's a plug in line about 50' long and the diameter of a 14 gauge extension cord. You connect them and you run them in a zig zag pattern on the bottom two feet of your roof. When the snow starts to build up you plug in the one end and it warms up melting all the snow around it. As the snow melted the stuff farther up the roof would slide down onto the heaters and get melted. Problem solved. Picked them up at Lowes. 7

... listening to a schedule, list of plans and chores (the to-do list; hyper-scheduling with every minute accounted for).

I much prefer the "what is next approach." Just tell me what is next. I don't want to hear a long list that obviously is going to take the entire weekend as if there will be no time for anything enjoyable. It makes me anxious listening to the drudgery. But, when taking one thing after another, I just get into it, and often I enjoy whatever it is.

In self defense, my work requires a high degree of planning and scheduling, and I enjoy it and am good at it. I just need a seemingly more casual approach during down time even if turns out the time is packed.
