I would suggest take the van put the back on it and sell it and then buy a pickup of your choosing,
I will not be able to get anything more than scrap price for the motorhome.
and this project is too easy not to do... 80% labor.

The parts wont cost that much.
have you priced a 1990 chevy 3500hd pickup with less than 30 thousand miles?
I cant afford to buy one. and I dont need to buy one... I have one.. just a couple days of work when it stops friggin raining here in florida!!!

If you wanted a little fancer look see if the van cab is the same as the van, (my guess it is), and find a old van and cut off the back for the rear of the cab, and then put a flat bed or small dump box on it,

Yeah, he could get the back 5 ft of the van body and add that to it and build in a sleeper cab on it for those long hauls! :) Lots of possibilities here lol.

Steve,
Be careful what you wish for. We had floods like that over the Memorial Day weekend. We haven't had any rain worth counting, since then.

My grandpa has an old rv that he paid $200 for. It has a 440 gas motor. We already tore it down to the frame. We sold the scrap aluminum for more than $200. He was thinking about doing the same thing, but it would be a waste of time. He has better trucks. He has a rollback, three 5 ton army trucks, a forestry fire truck, and a ford F800 bucket truck. He has more trucks, but the most likely candidate for a dump truck is the international fire truck. image-2725711618.jpg image-3411658815.jpg image-173605070.jpg image-1938137482.jpg image-3463977634.jpg image-3165196125.jpg image-917004319.jpg image-1714820658.jpg

Go for it but my bet is that when it comes to putting the PU body on so that you can make it street legal you will end up selling it all as scrap. I think it is going to be more to it than you think. :2cents: Ed

He has three army trucks. Two have a boom, and one just has a semi hitch. The boom is rated to lift 20,000 at the closest point. It will lift 4,000 pounds at 18 feet away. Those trucks have a sweet winch. The front winch is 20,000k the back is 45,000k
