Here's the Kel-Tec P-3AT:Kel Tec.
I picked one up a month ago. I haven't had a chance to fire it yet.

Do any of you guys know if the wolf ammo that has the polymer coating on the casings is reloadable? I was just curious as cabelas has some bulk ammo that seems like a good deal.

Most brass cased, boxer primed ammo is reloadable.

I've heard of many problems with steel cased and aluminum cased ammo.. as well as the obvious problem with berdan primed stuff.

Watch out for that berdan primed stuff! I broke two decapping pins before I learned to sort my 9MM brass.:(

Well I went and looked at the sig p229, springfield xd both is .40 cal. I also looked at a bersa .380 which looks like a nice gun, and is cheaper, but I think for what I want the sig is the way to go. It is heavier but it feels better in my hand. The xd feels top heavy unloaded, and while I know I will be shooting it loaded at some point there won't be enough rounds to balance it out. I will probably stop at Gander Mountain once more and just see what they have used to see if I can save some money, but getting an $800+ gun for $550 seems to make sense, plus it will give me the versatility to get the .357 sig barrel down the road.

Sigs are very good guns, I have four (P230, P228, P226, P220). The 229 is a beefed up version of the 228 which is a very nice gun.

I usually carry either the 220 or a Compact Kimber (both .45s), or a small .357 revolver. The revolver conceals the easiest.

Yeah, I think I would like to get an inexpensive revolver at some point, but right now I don't have the funds for more than one gun. Definitely on the list though.

One pocket gun that has not been mentioned here is the new Ruger 380 ACP. It was introduced about a year ago...and flying off the shelves since the intro.

This is pretty much a competitive gun to the Kel Tec...both are quite similar...but some say it's better made and better performing and it carries the Ruger name. :D....which means good service. Both are similar priced at about $300...but, there is a big demand right now...so they are selling a bit higher. I wish I could find a Ruger on the shelf somewhere....at the $300 price.....it would be mine.

Both the Kel Tec and the Ruger are really nice for concealed carry. I don't think you want to shoot these guns allot as they are probably a handful due to the light weight (9 or 10 oz) ....but they are good to have if the need arises. The 380 is widely thought to be a minimum caliber for personal defense.

One thing that is said about these little guns is that a person needing a cc gun WILL carry these, due to the small size and weight...as opposed to a larger, heavier gun, which becomes a burden to many.

OH....and with a low cost gun for defense purposes....maybe you can find a better gun (revolver) for your other needs?
my .02 worth.
