Now I may be wrong, but at the range you can cock the sig before firing the first round so that each trigger pull feels the same can't you? I also like the idea that if I am carrying it, it takes more to make it fire, I figure in a shooting situation I will have more than enough adrenaline to account for the stiffer trigger pull. Hopefully I won't ever need to find out.

Don't see why you couldn't just pull the hammer back from decocked to cocked, assuming you already have a round chambered and just wat that first pull to be the same as the next squeeze off.

Anyone have a good place to get a safe? I have found an electronic wall safe at gander mountain for $99 but I would rather get a decent gun cabinet that I can take with me to my next home. I am not looking for anything fireproof or waterproof, just to make it difficult to steal if there was a break-in and to keep the kids and guns separate. For the money the $99 wall safe may be the best deal.

Get those bolt-to-the-wall gun safes.. kmart has.. or used to have them.. sports authority does too.. so does TSC.. metal. heavy duty.. usually drill proof locks.. an by themselves weight a couple hundred pounds.. throw 7 long guns inthere and lag bolt it to the studs in your closet and it will take 2 mountain gorilla's to rip it off.

I will check at TSC next time is there, that is the kind I am thinking of. The good news is, I live more in the lowlands of Michigan so there aren't many mountain gorillas here, so I should be safe, pun intended.

I am thinking about getting a handgun in the next couple of months. I am looking for something that can be used for a carry gun, self defense, hunting, and leisure shooting. I am thinking that it would have to be at least .40 caliber if not .45. I am looking for something inexpensive, even if I have to find a nice used handgun. All suggestions will be appreciated.
I see you are in SE Michigan.Johnsons sporting goods(gunshop) located on M-52 the north side of adrain are great folks to deal with, they also have decent prices on the guns and a good selection of gun safes.I bought a Kimber custom shop 45 cal. that is a very nice auto pistol.I bought the wife a stainless Ruger SP101 revolver crimson trace laser grips in 32cal.H&R mag for home protection.coobie

I know there are some real nice guns out there for ccw. I have a Bersa Thunder .380 It's an ideal size to carry.

For an underpowered super discreet carry gun.. or a backup 2nd gun.. hard to beat the keltec 32acp. i hear ( havn't seen it ) that there is a .380 chambering being offered in the 'mini' package the .32 acp currently is using.. if so.. WOW.. I gotta get one...

I normally carry a sig saur p220 ( .380 )
