I'm considering buying the MX48 and would like to know can I still run my class one devices with a class 2 hitch?

YES you will need bushings for the cat 1 pins about 3 to 5 bucks each

I was looking at the same two tractors. My dealer did not have the MX4800 so I went with the MX5200 as it was only $1000 more than the MX4800. You can use the Cat 1 implements just have to use bushings to take up the difference at $2 each from tractor supply or change the pins to Cat 2. Since I have another tractor that uses only Cat 1 implements I just use the bushings. The adjustable ends are on the MX link arms are a must as it would be almost impossible connect equipment from the tractor seat.

I was told by my dealer that The MX4800 comes with the bushings as a stock item

My MX5800 came with bushings in the tool box. That was in November.

We have a MX5800. We installed Pat's quick connect system, using their option that fits the Class 2 MX lift-arm size and reduces it to a Class 1 o the hook-up end. We did this because all of our implements/attachments are Class 1. This set-up works great for us. If we ever want to go to Class 2--which is doubtful--we will use the bushings referred to above.

Same with my MX5200, but only one set. I bought a bunch from TSC, 2-3 dollars apiece. That way I just leave them on the pins, secured with lynch pins.

The convenience of a quick hitch disappears quickly if you have to dismount to switch over bushings.

Just got my MX5200 and it did come with one set of Cat1-to-Cat2 bushings. As mentioned it is easier to just leave them on each implement for a few dollars. Also, some implements required 2 bushings to cover the width of the pin area such as my LandPride rotary cutter. Some are narrow connections and only need one but I don't like the slop on the pin when it isn't the same diameter across the entire connection. Things start to round-off otherwise.

Ha! I originally started w/ an L3901 --> L4701 --> MX4800 --> MX5200 then to my final destination of MX5800! What a ride!
