Trading it in would be the easiest way to go. I might sit on his email to see if I can think of there's any way I can work the deal a bit. He'll be making a few bucks off the trade and then whatever they make off the MX. He also offered prices for the implements and they seemed pretty fair.

Wish you could find a used MX5100 with a loader and low hours for the low 20's or even 20. Toss on a backhoe and you're good to go. I understand the OCD desire to buy new because I share it myself buy there are alternatives worth looking into. Just my two cents here.

Be aware that all three current MXs have the exact same hydraulics. Same pump, same loader, same 3pt, same lifting capacities. I don't do enough ground-engaging tasks that the extra HP makes much difference. At least not enough to justify the price jump.
Also remember that rim guard is a lot heavier than most of the alternative liquid ballasts and way cheaper than cast iron wheel weights.
Lastly, around here there are lots of used SSQA forks for sale in the $3-400 range. I bought mine with the tractor too (for $900) and wish I hadn't.

Just realized your location. What dealer are you pricing at if you don't mind sharing?
I wish I had the extra 7 hp of the mx5800 sometimes. Pulling my disc at full depth....it don't like medium range. Also when pulling the 8' rotary cutter through thick stuff....more power would allow faster speed.
They drink alot more fuel though. I went from about 1 gallon per hour with my L3400 to about 2.5 gal/hr on the MX. So keep that in mind

Rimguard is cheaper than cast weights, BUT weights pretty much last forever, and are always going to be valuable. Rimguard works very well, but if you puncture a tire or tear off a valve stem, you can spill it, and also if you want to take the tire in for service, you can't just unbolt the fluid, like you can with weights. Plus, shops generally charge more for the hassle of dealing with it. I have rimguard, and when I was purchasing my tractor, I didn't even check the price difference, but now I wish I had.

That is a very good point - can mostly find a set on craigslist or even at some smaller used implement dealers and save a few bucks. Good luck on your search!

I waited over 6 months to score a set of QA forks used off Craigslist and was extremely fortunate. I just by chance was off on the Friday morning they were listed and contacted the owner. Picked them up within 4 hours of the listing. If you are patient deals are out there but you still have to be lucky. I certainly understand the allure of financing the forks now.
