MX Series Pricing?

I have an M7040 with loaded rears and wheel weights. Moving 2000lbs is possible but I think I would go bigger if I needed to lift that much on a routine basis... Just my $.02.

Hydraulic lift capacity of all tractor FELs decreases rapidly as load height increases.

I hear that. But luckily it also correlates to lack of stability the higher you lift.

My L3200 was rated to lift 1,200lbs. Moving some "1,200lbs" big square bales with my 200lbs of pallet forks on most would only get around 4-5' high or so. A little higher or lower depending on how heavy or light a given bale was. A bit sketchy even with a lot of ballast far on the back of a long rotary cutter. Not something I'd do often, but was enough to help a neighbor clear out a small barn of big bales they got just before getting rid of the goats.

Lifting a pallet off a trailer (maybe even driving the trailer out from underneath) & carrying a pallet slowly 1' off the ground a ways a few times a year isn't a problem if it's at the limit of the machine. I wouldn't do it often though.

Another thing to consider is 3pt pallet forks. If you an unload with the loader, or back the trailer up to a slope (or even just use ramps) the 3pt usually lifts double what the loader will. You just can't stack stuff with the 3pt.

Any update Cold1313?

I'm still doing some reading. Moving 2,000lbs would happen once a year when I get wood pellets. So I might only be moving 3 pallets a year or so (depending how many more wood pellet stoves I get in the future). I'm not overly concerned on the weight part.

I am more concerned about getting a tractor that will make me feel comfortable on the slopes. Right now it doesn't take much more than a small rut and a tiny slip to make me pucker up. The farmer currently working my land had a worker mow around the property with a big cutter. He was moving quick and didn't care about the slopes. Then again it was an older tractor and had some serious weight to it.

I'm guessing by time I find a tractor that I'd be comfortable in, it will be way more than I need. I'd almost have to find a way to earn a few bucks or something with the tractor.

I'd also have to get a decent price for my B3200 (less than 150 hours)...which is a whole other story!

I might know a guy if the price is right. I finally talked him out of a BX. What part of the state are you?

North Central Ohio - Right along the lake, centered between Toledo and Cleveland. Near Cedar Point amusement park.

The MX series has 4 pos rear wheels (may be 3pos with R1s?) so you can get the back end quite wide. Set the rear wide, load the rear tires with beat juice and IMO you can't get much better with any other CUT or utility tractor.

I can tell you that my ballasted MX is wayyyy more stable that my ballasted B3300 ever was. :2cents:

Couple times a year will not be a problem. I do it from time to time but always have 1400lbs on the back end to keep it firmly planted.

As for the width, that is exactly why I bought my MX5100. I am on hills about 90% of time and it is great! I have a BX25D, Had a B7610, and a L 3700, the MX is FAR more stable than any of the others and I have been very pleased with the stability on the hills.

2000# on a pallet is no problem for my MX 4700. I usually keep my wheels all the way in for my vegetable route spacing, but I have moved them to their widest position, and it makes a huge difference in stability. Line others have mentioned, have lots of weight on the rear, keep your load low to the ground, and your hand on the joystick in case you need to lower the pallet, and you should be fine to pick up that amount on flattish ground. For mowing, wheels wide, loaded tires, and remove the loader, it'll be night and day compared to your B.

I would normally just ask my dealer about this, but I don't want to get him excited and thinking I'm buying another machine right yet....but how is Kubota doing on financing etc lately? My last purchase was in 2013 and I believe it was 0% for 48 months.

I was unsure if financing is about the same all year long, or if there are better times throughout the year/season.
