I bought a MX6 mower this summer and am totally satisfied with it. I had it on a 65 hp Case 830 tractor. I can take down weeds as tall as the tractor, which is in the 5 to 6 foot range. I could have gotten a better price but I traded in a rusted out JD 709 that I wanted to get rid of so I took a little hit on what I could have got for a cash price. I was mowing with the old one, hit a clump and broke the pto shaft as the slip clutch was froze up. I headed directly to the dealership (which is about 12 miles away). By the time I got there, the thing was so rusted, the 3 point hitch was giving away and I was almost dragging the thing. I pulled up and said "I need a new one". They hooked me up and the way I went. I paid $2000 difference. They claimed to give me $300 for the old one but to me it was worth no more than the price of scrap. The 709 was old when I got it, I keep the new MX6 in the shed and will take care of this one. I also have a JD 3320 compact tractor which I use with the MX6 and it does a good job (as long as I stay out of the really tall stuff). The 709 I traded in was a 7 foot mower and I thought I would miss it but that extra foot of width actually was a hindrence as I look back because I can do ditches better now, it is more manouverable and lighter. I vote for the MX6.
