My understanding was that the Super-UDT was for tractors
with HST. UDT was for the gear tractors.

In, brief:
My take from all info is that we "should" be using SUDT in the hydros.
MANY dealers use and recommend just UDT. Mine went so far as to cross ref SUDT to UDT in their computers so that the parts dept. can't even special order it!!!
I go 50 miles out of my way to get my SUDT at another dealer and that dealer says SUDT is about all they sell.
My climate is 100+ (lately 110+) in the summer and can go as low as high teens in the winter.

Anyone know how much the dealer charges for a skid plate/undercarriage plate? My BX24 is due for the 50hr service. What's the going price for such a service?

What a great story. It's nice that it had a good ending. Maybe your son over heard someone at the NAPA parts counter on one of your multiple visits. I'm busy right now.........
A really good project involves 3 trips to a store and requires a bandage.
Making sure you have all the right sockets and wrenchs before you start a service procedure like this is great advice.

PM member "bird1968" here on TBN, he da BX skidplate, et al, man. Dealers have nothing in that regard.

Kubota specifies SUDT so that is what I used on my BX...........if the manufacturer specifies it .......there must be a good reason for using it.

I did realize that a 1 1/16" socket will work for the 27mm socket. In the larger sizes, the sockets are very close. Mine happens to be a six point socket, so it won't slip or damage the bolt head.
