My BX23 is 4 years and 1100 hours old.
Had the water in the 4 way flashers once&unpluged one wire off the switch for a week or 2 clipped the wire back on an it's never did it again.
Neutral start switch went bad was replaced when still in warranty never a problem again.
yikes ! right now i have BX 24 and i havent had any problems with it except backing it up into a tree and smashing the rear tail light. so far no electrical problems. however i can share your sympathy on the wiring on the BX24. when i added additional lights for nighttime clearing- i was disappointed on how small the wires were. so i added much heavier gauge wires for it to be on the safe side. I see you are in walworth somwhere just 10 mins south from me.
WD40 is a good alternative if you are leaving your tractor outside often. Spray it into the switches to help repel moisture. It immediately solved the neighbor's B2620 problems!
