I will update as I get price quotes from the dealers and let me know what ya think. I have Kubota, NH, MF, and 2 JD dealers near by. These prices are out the door. Can you haggle these prices same as a car dealer? Has anyone gotten different quotes from like mfg dealers?

Today was Kubota:
BX2370 with LA243 FEL w/ 48" bucket; 60" MMM, turf tires; fluid fill rear tires.
Financed Price 0% x 60 mo. $15.943
Cash price $15,042

BX25D with FEL and backhoe standard; 12" hoe bucket; 3 point hitch kit; 60" MMM; grill guard standard; R4 tires.
Financed Price 0% x 60 mo. $21,066
Cash price $20,375

I was disappointed at how much more a backhoe unit cost- $5k more dollars, hard to justify.

Today was John Deere:
1023E with H120 FEL w/ 48" bucket; 60" MMM, R4 tires; fluid fill rear tires.
Financed Price 0% x 60 mo. $16,012
Cash price $16,012 (no discount for cash sale)(note this was a new 2012 unit discounted $300)

1025R with H120 FEL w/48" bucket and backhoe standard; 12" hoe bucket; 3 point hitch kit (included); 60" MMM; R4 tires.
Financed Price 0% x 60 mo. $22,791
Cash price $22,791 (no discount for cash sale)

Noteables: JD requires 10% down and Kubota requires 0% down. JD had no standard discount for cash sale and Kubota was $700 discount. JD drive over quick attach deck that Kubota does not offer. Three point hitch kit included with JD and Kubota is not and must be ordered extra for the BH units. Both have very similar markerting tactics such as 0% for 60 months, $500 discount for 2 implement purchase, and insurance available. The 1023E and the BX2370 are not price practical to add backhoe to. The factory installed backhoe is cheaper than dealer install and is offered on the BX25D and 1025R. The above 1025E is an economy version of the 1025R without things like lights, cruise, deluxe seat, etc., and less HP. Did not hear these differences in the Kubota comparison above. The JD backhoe weldments looked chincy to me and I need to get a good look at the Kubotas for comparison as I used to be a welder fabricator and notice these things.

Not a big deal but I am also finding out that with the BH installed units the MMM cannot be lowered on the Kubota and similar on the JD but JD offers a switch and solenoid kit for this if desired.

I will continue with a 2nd JD, NH, and MF quotes in the next 2 weeks.

The Kubota doesnt mention features like on the 1025R because it dowsnt have them. Its a closer comparison to the 1023E, but without the auto connect deck, and a D120 pin on style loader.

Well took longer than I expected to get back to the dealerships......

Today was Massey Ferguson:

GC1710 with FEL w/48" bucket and backhoe standard; 12" hoe bucket; 60" MMM; R4 Tires; 23hp
Financed Price 3.99% x 60 mo. (84 mo. available) $18,400 with total payback of $21,610
Cash Price: $18,400 (no discount for cash except saving finance charges)

GC1720 with FEL w/48" bucket and backhoe standard; 12" hoe bucket; 60" MMM; R4 Tires; 25hp; 3 point hitch kit included; deluxe seat; rear work light;
Financed Price 3.99% x 60 mo. (84 mo. available) $19,900 with total payback of $23,355
Cash Price: $19,900 (no discount for cash except saving finance charges)

Noteables: The 1720 is an upgraded version of the 1710 with a few better options as listed above. 0% financing offered but is more expensive due to losing $2400 in discounts compared to the 3.99% version. Notice how the total payback financed price aligns somewhat with the K and JD 0% offers. Drove this unit today and is a nice tractor. Made in Japan per the sticker on the fender and implements made in Spain and wherever else. Good looking unit and hoe was fast at 2000 rpm. Three point arms can remain on with hoe and the hose connections take power from the 3 point system, mower deck could not be operable with the hoe on as most of them are. They offered insurance and he guessed it would add $10 to the payment.

One thing I want to know about the BH hydraulics, I was told the dig function has an extra power mode when in a tight spot which would give the bucket more pressure when needed. This is done by pushing the left lever farther forward, and I could feel a 3rd position in this valve spool. Anyone up to date on this?

I forgot to add one note about the Massey, the side by side HST pedals were really nice compared to the heel and toe versions.

Never ending debate, our John Deere has side by side and Kubota heel and toe, one is as comfortable as the other to me, my wife hates the side by side.

I will tell you what I just bought a few weeks ago.

Kubota BX25D
Land Pride grapple installed.
MMM 60"
Delivered to my house
Picked up at my house for its 50hr service

22,400 at the 0% deal.

I looked at them all as well....Loved how the JD just held me...like sitting on a lazy boy. MF...well they really just did not want my business. Kubota I really liked the machine and felt the dealer went the extra mile. Mahendra....just had a plastic feel to it....I can't put my finger on it but it just felt cheap....not inexpensive, but cheap.

I really was leaning to the MF but with a dealer that acted like I was taking up his time while looking at the lawn mower....well ok I will just take my 20k somewhere else. 20 thousand may not be a lot to him but it is a lot to me. Last NEW car I bought cost me less then that.

Be sure to call and tell the dealer why you went elsewhere.

I've been amazed at the lack of professional sales experience in the tractor sector by people who have been doing it for a long time.

I am pretty sure you are talking about the float position on the BH ,this allows you to use the weight of the BH for digging !!!

Bloom float allows the bucket to follow given depth and still be able to curl the bucket and pick up material (think digging a trench at a certain depth) as well as to back grade and grade following the general contour of the ground. Float basically makes the operator look and feel like a hand to eye coordination hero.

Yes this is a good demo of how float works, I will just need a hydraulic schematic to understand it.
