Mark, when I looked at those I noticed there were about half a dozen "re-badges" with different names; hopefully all the copy cats picked one of the better ones to steal :laughing:

That one seems to have a tiny bit wider range (+- 2.99 psi instead of 2) but either will be more range than you need for under 1/2 PSI

If your weather's been like mine, you can put your stuff outside to do the rock in about 6 months

The good news - your new heater won't help your stuff rust by adding several gallons of water to your inside air :thumbsup: ... Steve

Steve, I did a test blow (with my mouth) and the meter seems to be working!

Yeah figuring July/August? Or next year for mud work. :ashamed:

I am sure hoping the sealed combustion style will lower my humidity. I would love to get significantly below the outside especially during the winter! I did a couple vise restorations a while back and the unpainted slides have an orange color that is not appealing. Gonna have to disassemble and put a clear coat of something on I guess.

I HATE RUST.

If you have a spare 120 outlet, might wanna look at cold weather dehumidifiers (they work at 10-20 degrees colder) - with our wood heat humidity doesn't seem much of a problem. In the (un-heated mostly) shop I keep 100 watt bulbs under anything that's rustable, keeps the iron above dewpoint.

My guitars/basses/drums/piano all like 45-50%, in the house the wood stove keeps it below 53 most of the time. In the studio, a milkhouse heater on an external thermostat and a small fan keeps things comfy.

I may end up putting small ones (dehumidifier, not guitars) in each container once I get power to 'em. You'd be surprised how quick their tank fills up, when I've used 'em before I ended up plumbing to a drain instead of tryin' to remember to empty... Steve

I have 'em in 3 different areas I care about, their accuracy claim isn't BS - when I got 'em I borrowed a SERIOUS Hygrometer from work - put all 3 of the small ones and the REAL one in the same small area, let 'em settle in - they ALL read within 1/2% of each other. I had one of those "do everything" satellite clock thingys, the hygrometer part is lucky to get within 15%... Steve

Good plan - if that isn't practical (like in my unheated, uninsulated shop) the light bulbs will keep metal surfaces above dewpoint, it's actually worked better than I'd hoped... Steve

I have a previous 'black n white' version in my shop now. The remote outdoor transmitter stopped awhile back but I do get indoor humidity reading. Seems always at least 66% these days.
