Thanks for the info.

Have I confused you yet? :D

No, when it comes to such stuff as multiple coupons and "one per customer" items, I know most of the tricks; a poor man has to.

I have learned that it pays to not take a whole cart-load of stuff through the counter at one time; they will somehow hook you every time.

Just last week, the wife stopped there for me (nearest store is 100-miles away).

She had my sale-page showing those 5-piece brass air-coupler sets for $1.27 each pack; regular price = $3.99.

I had her get 4 packs at 1.27 each = 5.08

When I looked the receipt over, I only had my four packs, yet they had rang up five at regular price = 19.95, a $14.87 mistake in their favor plus the taxes.

Lesson learned; don't send her after more than a few items at one time.:)

Man, those brass quick couples ARE the worst I've gotten at HF. The very first time I hooked up a hose it literaly exploded the lock ring came out and all the small coupler pieces went all over the shop. ONLY get the steel ones they last. bjr

That's strange.

I have used hundreds of them, both at home and in the eleven-bay tire-shop, and have never had a problem.

They actually leak less than the pricey name-brands.

The only reason we ever replace them at the shop is on account of those dimwits dragging them across the concrete floor, usually connected to an expensive Ingersol-Rand that is also getting drug.

This dragging soon sands the knurls off the collar until they are too slick to grip.

Just to be certain we are on the same page, this is the part-number/set I always get :

- Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices

They also have a 4-piece brass set that may or may not be the same couplers.

Harbor Freight Coupon Thread - SlickDeals.net Forums

This is from the top of the page of that link you provided; is this the coupon I want (except this one is expired) ??

Coupon Display

My reason for asking is the fine print states that they will not accept copies or computer print-outs, only the originals.

I am assuming you guys are printing the coupons; do you have any hassle in redeeming them ??

Thanks.:)

I redeemd one yesterday that I printed from the slick deals thread. The hitch was on sale for $79, it is in the back of my truck at this moment for 20% less. What a deal! 80 minus 20% = $64 plus sales tax. A similar hitch is over $200 at my local tractor supply store.

Go to the Slick Deals link Thursday or Friday. The HF link will then go to a coupon valid for the next weekend. Notice that the coupon is on the Harbor Freight web site. It is there to be printed and used. No hassles.

I've had narrower one and it worked very well for a couple years. Then I was disking and something in the latch mechinism broke. It's probably fixable but just don't got the time right now to dittle with it. I'm gonna drag it out of the scrap pile one of these days and see whats wrong. bjr

Thank you all for pointing me toward the coupons.

If some unforeseen dilemna doesn't alter my plans, I intend to travel the hundred miles to the nearest H-F store Saturday.

Thanks.:)

Make sure you call first to see if they have what you want, and ask them hold it for you.......

I drove 120 miles round trip to buy my 5 foot box blade that was on clearance for $199 from the tractor supply store in Mt Pleasant Michigan. It had been there all summer. The day I decided to get it, it was gone. I saw the same blade at the Ionia tractor supply store a couple months ealier when I was near there buying my tractor but it was to late to make the drive over there before they closed. I called them and they held it for me to pick up the next day.

Well, I made the trip to H-F today; it was cyclone-windy all day, so I probably wouldn't have accomplished much around home anyway.

They were having one of their sidewalk sales and the first thing I saw when I walked across the parking lot was a slightly scratched 97214 quik-hitch.

I negotiated a deal and got the quik-hitch and one of those floor-model benders missing the dies for less money than the quik-hitch on sale with the 20%-off coupon, so I did pretty good today.

Thanks for everyone's help; I managed to print off several coupons from that site and use them today.:)

Scratches on a tractor implement? Oh my how are you going to get the wax to stick?

What's the reasoning in the first place for the two different width sizes when both are classified as "Category 1"?...Any ideas?

/ My Harbor Freight Quick Hitch #137
The narrow one conforms to the 'standard', which some implements conform to. The wide one is for the other half of all the implements out there in the real world.

Or you could have my luck and have implements that conform to neither standard and have to be modified to fit. Thankfully only only 1 time.

Ok fellas......need some input here. I got a HF quick hitch a few days ago to hook up and transition between my back blade and spreader for winter road maint.

The daggone qh doesn't fit. I haven't checked my KK box blade or Bush hog squealer yet, but my Bush hog 6ft rear blade hitch points meet the outsides of the j hooks on the qh almost perfectly, thus it won't hitch up. My Tractor supply spreader fits, but of course the hitch points are pretty narrow leaving me needing longer pins to meet up with the qh j hooks.

I studied the problem for a while and of course can remedy the spreader issue. I'm not sure if I can do anything about the rear blade fit. Both implements need the top link adapter for the qh so there's that issue also.
So thhe main reason I got the hitch in the first place isn't panning out. Anyone else have this issue and got the quick hitch to work? Or should I just take the thing back?

I am not really interested in doing hours of mods to it to get it to work b/c I don't really have the tools to get into that. I will deal with the pain in the butt implement switches instead and take the hitch back.

Any advice would be really appreciated. I really want this system to work.

Dex.......judging by your post, I think I'm in the same boat you found yourself in. What mods did you do?

I had to cut and narrow the width on some things that were cat. 1/2 and I had to change the position of the top link attachment on a few others. Fortunately I have a welder and tools to cut metal.
