My Industrial Cabin Build

Thanks, i will be contacting the company again today to see if they can send a digital copy. 12 panels sounds great. And it felt good. But last week was Zero panels. A combination of rain and the extensive jack system on the bedroom Wall made it a very slow process. Preparation Was key. and, my wife pointed out that we got 3 of the 12 done Saturday before the rain pushed us away.
This is the bedroom wall. It has 35 pieces to the jack system that went in it. 6x12 beams will nest in the top of that wall and support the roof. This wall was 9 panels.

I assume some pretty big headers above those windows to support the roof beams.

Buckeye, I went out there this evening,just before dark. The house is solid and fine. My stacks of building supplies were a mess. Half of the tarps and plastic sheet covers had come off. Fortunately the rain fell before the wind came so it was mostly dry. That wind made it bitter cold. Im hoping the wind dies down for tomorrow.
It is very encouraging to be there with sustained 20 mph winds and big gusts and see that the walls I was worried about aren’t even shaking or wiggling.

This weekend was productive but not a lot of building. Valentines Day is coming up and my wife had her mind set on trees. So I sacrificed a build day to give her something pretty to look at. I figure it keeps her mentally “in the game”.

I need her hep to get this done so I need to keep her happy about it.

That's a lot of progress. I liked the closing camera shot which puts it all into perspective and must really give you both a sense of accomplishment.

Ouch, better treat her after that board fell.

When installing an upside down El like that first corner one, how about screwing a temporary leg on the far side, at right height and bracing that leg with a temporary 45° brace on the outside. Then the panel will install level.

Also like that final picture, you are getting there.

One of the biggest challenges is keeping her out of harms way. I don’t expect to have any more panels shaped like that. We have one more header, about the size of the window I put in alone. After that that, the panels are all square or rectangular. Plenty of opportunity for crazy challenges, though, because those are all involving post and beam.
