Well since it became a topic here , I documented the work we had to do this week. I am way behind on house build editing and we are both exhausted from this week, but We are out on the build again and I am going to get caught up as soon as I can.

Some of the last two weeks, before we ran face first into the fire blight.

The disease I was spraying for in this video was cedar rust. I had seen some evidence of it and was trying to make sure it didn’t ruin our harvest. Little did I know, what was to come.

Friday night ,May8, we had another frost which effected apple crops in some parts of virginia. It damaged some native trees on our farm, but the apples seem to be ok. I think the most likely reason fo that, is that we planned out the planting of the trees. They are on a hill, just above 800 feet and the cold air can fall away from the trees and slide down to the lower sections of the property.

For the next few weeks I will be spraying weekly for fireblight and walking thru several times a week to check for damage and prune away anything that still looks suspicious.

Edited this because I had the wrong date.

Thomas Jefferson did the same thing at Monticello. Smart move. Good luck with the fireblight.

Do you still have more SIP's to install or are they all done?

Eddie, we have approximately 50 more pieces of SIPs to install. The front and back wall are 5 pieces each and two corner pieces in the front. Then the roof is all 10 inch thick SIPs
