Dear All,
Just wanted to drop a quick note to let you know my little buddy passed away Friday night. AustinDog was a 10 1/2 year old Golden retriever. He was a trooper all the way never crying as we found out he had a big tumor which bled internally. It was a long night as I rushed him to an Emergency clinic in Austin. (our Gidding's vet was out of town). It didn't matter, after waiting a couple of long hours at the ER, I had to tell them to release him back to me with some pain killers. He died on the way home. He had been having a few problems in the last 2 months. It all happened so suddenly, at 6pm he came inside from his "duty" and laid down on his side never to get up on his own again. He died at 11:30 pm. The ER vet said Goldens are prone to tumors. I asked why, just looking for some sliver of hope and he said "Just like you can count on them to be the friendliest big dogs, they also have this problem trait".
We buried him Saturday in a very scenic location under a tree overlooking our pond.
He had a lot of friends in a lot of places. No mean bones in his body. Never bit anyone. Innocent.
He was truly a Man's best friend. His last concerted movement was to place his paw on me as I laid by his side. This was always his way of telling me how much he liked me and returning the love.
I will always miss him.
Sincerely...Kyle
