Mx-4700 ( MX5100 minus turbo and telescopic lower arms) is what I bought and could not be happier. MX-5100/4700 can not be beat for price, performance and maintainability.

I have a MX5100 with 300 hours on it now. The only complaints I have are the rear is a bit light, even with the loaded tires, I also don't like how high the rpm's have to be to acheive 540 on the pto ( although I mow at a much lower RPM just fine) also the diff lock should be on the left side not right so you can use the throttle while using the diff lock. Although i think they did move it to the otherside in the newer models.These are all really minor complaints though. I would buy another one in a minute.

its not a PTO tractor, it gets loud and becomes a fuel hog at 540 PTO, maybe kubota thought they were launching a new line of sports car.

my PTO is only used with a pto pump log splitter and 1500RPM cuts it fine. like I said its not a PTO nor ag tractor, the hood decal on mine reads '' utility speciaL'' ....and thats exactly it >a small chore tractor, it straddles the fence between a compact and a true utility.

smaller and lighter in the back like an L but beefier up front like M class. it cant be everything to all people but it sure tries

I had heard it both ways before i purchased. It won't lift that. or It'll lift that no sweat. The "that" in question is 2000lbs of heating pellets. I have 5 tons delivered every year and was tired of manually humping them into my garage with the pallet jack or even worse having to unload by hand because the entry to my garage is very unlevel and sometimes the pallet jack hangs up. I'm very happy to report the MX5100 made short work of the ton we had delivered last night for our first fire. The rear tires aren't loaded but I did have the backhoe attached. No drama, no strain, nothing. I had heard from so many people it wouldn't do it I was really afraid it wouldn't. You know what they say.....

It was freezing out last night so I didn't really play around with height or anything, more of a get them inside and get the fire going kinda deal. When the other 4 tons come I'll see if I can't load and unload one from my truck bed etc.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Isn't it nice when you buy a tool and it meets your expectations and does exactly what you need it to do? Congratulations on your new machine:thumbsup:

Mine has ag tires but no loader and I use it to pull seeding implements, some of which are heavy or awkward. To help I added the maximum number of front end weights--7, I think-- and wow does it pull and lift a lot more than you would expect. I do not overweight or overwork things but it's clear these tractors are a real workhouse. It's really the perfect tractor for the really big yard or the sort-of small farm.

The only issue I have is I wish it had the rear lift cylinders so it would lift more weight. Not a lot more but seeders and such ar now about the same weight as the current lift ratings. Adding seeds puts you over the so-called weight lift limits.

Still haven't got the rest of my pellets in so no more pics. I agree on the PTO deal. I absolutely hate running equipment near max rpm... I dunno what they were thinking when they geared the PTO like that. AND this is coming from a Detroit guy, if anyone should be comfortable way up there at 2700rpm it should be me. It's a huge pet peeve of mine but I've yet to actually use the PTO, so I'm sure it'll be fine at a lower RPM. I knew about the RPM deal going in so it's not like I'm surprised about it, just one of those compromises I had to make to get the rest of the package I wanted. Other than that I love the tractor. It looks awesome in my basement. LOL Once we get going on the property it'll see some use but I bought it very early to avoid the pending tier iv emissions fiasco.

Regarding the RPM issue below...I used mine to rototill today and it was the first time I used the PTO. I actually never got all the way to 540 because it did a great job at a slightly lower engine speed. I wonder if Kubota designed it this way? On one hand if you need the extra HP, the higher engine speed gets the turbo going and ramps up HP while at not that much lower of a speed it does an equally great job. Not sure that sounds all the way right but it works for me.

I run at 2700 rpm for heavy (at, near & beyond capacity) lifting with either backhoe or FEL. It does seem weird, but there shouldn't be any problem. Regarding the comment above about diff lock on the right, on the MX5100, mine is on the left. Which models are on the right? If on the right, how do you use it? Cruise control lever?

i never ran my mx5100 hst at full 540 pto speed because there was no need to.if we was tilling up the gardens we ran at 1500 to 1600 rpms.an when we ran the shredder 1800 to 1900rpms.

Got my pellets the other day, tractor was able to lift them, but did so with considerably more struggle than last time. Last time I had removed 3 bags to light the fire in the furnace so that i'd have heat by the time i was done moving the rest in the garage etc. I totally forgot about that until I went to put these in the air. Apparently 3 measly bags makes a difference. LOL. Was very slow to lift, slow enough I didn't bother to see if I could lift it high enough to get them on the truck as I figured it'd be a waste of time.... however i'm lifting approx 2480lbs if you count the pallet fork rack. I'm curious to see what the pump pressure is and bump it up a little bit, just to make it lift a little faster, we'll see. Anyone know where the bypass adjustment is?

Also wanted to note that I was not able to curl the load once in the air. I wanted to make mention of that because that's supposed to be the strongest part of the loader....
