Hi Diesel, I used Lucas hydraulic conditioner in my trans and it helped with the notchy shifting some. Don't expect a miracle but it did help. Not a huge issue to me but can try your patience. I am thinking on getting into a NX6010 from my DK50 for the HP increase, BUT my DK has and is a great tractor so I don't want to get into a headache. I also PM'd Eric on his tractor to see how he likes his and any issues he has had. I would like something in the 80-90hp range but the hystat is a must. CJ
Thanks for the tip on the conditioner. I'll keep this in mind!
Not sure if bumping up from 50hp to 60hp is going to do all that much for you (especially if you're thinking you'd like 80-90hp). HP is mostly evident when doing ground-engaging work. All depends on what kind of work you're needing to do. In the NX series they're running the same loader (same capacity) and, the same engine (only difference is software programming).
I went from 30hp to this 55hp. And the 30hp tractor, the B7800, is a small-frame tractor (I still have it; I'll never give it up- it can get into places where most other tractors cannot, and the 30hp is enough to allow it to work when it's there!).
I'm only nearing 50hrs, not enough to really give a sound impression of this NX5510. But, for the most part, with the "new machine" issues dealt with, it's working really well: I've managed to escape damaging the tractor, knock on wood! (have scuffed some paint on the brush guard; paint on cab step is well worn- Kioti's paint work is not top-notch). I've been doing a lot of loader work (and lifting around pallets of wood here and there), and towing of my dump trailer (I'm pushing well over 10k lbs on a run). Folks here convinced me to go with a cab and I'm very happy to have listened to them; when I can be out on the property I'll see how well this holds up- I'll be working around/between trees here and there (not heavily wooded, but enough that one has to watch out). I cannot wait to get my grapple on (waiting for my backlog of other work to complete before I can get around to installing the lines); that'll be another good test.
My philosophy is to get what will do the majority of work you need to do, and what it cannot do, rent something that can.
