My very own grapples!

Good stuff here!

Getting warmed up for my cold weather project: fingering out how to add two remotes (might just have to do three). And to do it by saving some money (NH wants a lot for it). Looks like you did it for a large $$$ less than $600 each.

Gotta love it when a wife jumps in (and wants better tools). You knew she would figure out your diabolical plot, right? The one about 'oh, look honey, you can mow the lawn, after picking up the tree limbs I cut, with you new grapples'. LMAO.

Hahaha, Oh, that's priceless!!:D
If you're gonna add rear remotes, you might want to chech out this thread where I added some to my Kama.
I used the existing (2 sets) for controlling hydraulic side links and added 3 more sets of remotes.
I believe my Kama is the same size as yours.

Rob -

Thanks for the prompt reply.

After some more research here on TBN, it looks like my Kubota LA-463 FEL may well have power beyond. I had been led to believe that it didn't have it. I'll check it when I get home tonight.
- Just Gary

Most of the Kubota's with kubota FEL's will have power beyond as Kubota uses stripped down hydraulic controls without pressure relief and they rely on the system pressure relief. I think the flow path is pump, FEL control, power beyond port to the system pressure relief, 3pt and return. Sort of goofy from some perspectives, but it means they only have to use 1 pressure relief and it is the same for tractors with & wo FELs.

...When I get settled into our new Log Home and get the shop set up, I will consider making the kits.
I've had many requests now.
Thanks,

Hey Rob, I just read this thread again and just noticed this quote!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D

Are you settled in?

LOL, after just replying to your AR400 thread, .... no.:D
Dang Eddie, you have keen eyes!
Truth is that my shop is lagging behind. It is not even close to ready yet. You remember all those trailers full of stuff we moved? Well, it all ended up in the barn/shop and we have just started to move some of it into the home.
You'll notice I haven't posted any mods or even repairs other than my joystick cable breaking. I still need to position my machinery and wire it all up with 3 phase 220v once all the boxes are out of there. Also have to run the air lines and build some shelving. I'm hoping to have it done before Thanksgiving though ... maybe sooner.

The joy of moving. It's not just moving from one home to another, it's moving from one pile to another pile to another over and over again!!!! Plus you have to deal with Murphy's Law, which clearly states that the thing you need right now is at the middle and bottom of any pile of boxes that you have!!!!!

I didn't realize you had 3 phase power out of your solar system. That's pretty impressive.

Eddie, although the system can be set up to produce 3 phase power, mine is not set up like that.
It makes single phase 220v and I will be using a rotary 3 phase converter to run my 3 phase machines. We set it up like that because the 3 phase machine are not used all the time. Only for my limited (weak) projects and what little mold work I get. And the majority of that is design and engineering work.

Have you made any progress on your grapple selection? Did you contact Andy via the email address I PM'ed to you?

Yea, right. All of the stuff you've shown us is weak, undersized and brittle

What happened to the Rob and Larry School of Machining and tractor gadgets? :D That could be the slave labor for your grapple shop. :)

I would be interested in taking that class of machining and tractor gadgets, if he wasn't so durn far away, or if I could make it to the west coast as often as my wife does... (she is out there right now). Do we have to bring our own milling machines?

Hahaha guys,
I could sure use some slave labor right now.
Wish my strapping sons would get their butts up here to help with some of this stuff but they have their own lives to deal with. I tried to lure them up with dove season opener last week, but no go.
As far as bringing your own stuff for school, I have spares. Bring your own camera. But I warn you, you'll be working you butt off making your own grapples or whatever like Loretta did. Then you'd be stuck with a new implement or attachment.:)
