Looks like a great addition to your rig, you will find lots of uses for it. Be safe.:)

Not sure if you have ever run a backhoe or not but if you have not, the first hour will be a real lesson in humility. Maybe don't let anyone watch. Once you figure it out it will be like riding a bicycle and you'll never forget.

Very Nice, you must be stoked. I'm envious.
I really don't know but it seems like it will change the telemetry of the machine quite a bit.
Could make it more likely to roll....? So consider the implications before you start moving the machine around on uneven ground.

Thanks everyone! I've run a backhoe/track hoe quite abit but now I own my own unit. I'm sure it will make it a little more top heavy but I will soon be able to confirm or deny that.

Congrats on the new BH.

May I ask where you purchased the BH and how much for the hoe and frame?

Wedge

The hoe was $6,200, the sub frame was 1,295 and the thumb was 1,850. Even with the shipping, I save over $3,000 from a local dealer.

Very nice !! I'll agree it's a different, much better machine with the hydraulic thumb.... congratulations. The worst part of your install will be having the hoses made. I was lucky when I installed my 80X, I had a shop that makes hoses about a mile from my house. You shouldn't have any problem getting it on in a weekend. I look forward to the pictures of the install, and the working unit.

What issues did you run into with the hoses? I was thinking of running my tractor down to a hydraulic shop so they can measure it up and know exactly what I need to make it happen. Ideally, the hoe would be on it as well but I don't think that is possible. Any tips on this part?

NICE!

Make sure there are no utilities before you dig!

Water, Sewer, Tanks, Gas, Elec, Tele, Phone etc et al.

I have a Woods BH-90X with manual thumb and have been thinking about get the hydraulic option kit. Nice unit. I got mine with the tractor so it came installed and everything.
What hoses are you talking about needing?
Your pictures show that you have hoses on the BH-90X.
Are you only talking about the ones that go from the tractor PB to the BH-90X or do you have other hoses that were not supplied as well?

You'll Love that Hyd thumb! My Cat 112B has a Thumb but it is manual. It always seems to be in the wrong place. Sure pulls trees out easy....
