My Constitutional right to do something, legally, will not be invalidated so as to not offend or make someone 'feel safe and unmolested in a public environment'.

Funny how those who insist on feeling safe want to beat those with opposing views .

Re: My "why I carry a firearm " rant

Open Carry in public "because it's my legal right" is equal to purposely Farting in a crowded elevator. Sure, it's "your right" but it doesn't make you any less of an offensive, selfish, narcissistic, attention-*****. No one wants to smell your fart. If you've got a fart, keep it to yourself until the time you truly need to let it out.

Speak softly, and carry a big stick.

I am an NRA member, and a big supporter of concealed carry. Open carry zealots give gun supporters a bad rap, and another reason for the liberals to complain.

But advocating public forced disarming and beating for those who exercise their rights is perfectly reasonable ? Perhaps you should turn your firearms over to the authorities, you are a threat to the safety of the general public. Do you also want to assault those that cart in elevators ?

I remember a time when openly carrying a gun was "OK", but carrying concealed was seen as "sneaky" and anyone wishing to do so was obviously up to no good.

I no longer carry concealed or open, but don't much care what others do.

LOL yes!

No, I was being sarcastic about that. Maybe stoning, or public shaming... (that's a joke).

Perhaps you didn't notice the NRA symbol in my sig line...... Benefactor Life Member. Also an NRA firearms instructor.

I will say this and only this in this thread:

You don't get to keep your rights by voluntarily giving them up to assuage peoples' feelings.

Hopefully I never get stuck sharing an elevator with you... that'll really "stink"

I conceal carry when I leave my residence, by law, but when I am at my business or home I open carry, I have Deputy sheriffs, and state police officers that not only approve of carrying they actually like when I open carry at my business. I don't have a problem with open carriers, I just don't approve of the ones that make a big display out of it. I also realize that is how some states got conceal or open carry of handguns, because while open carry of handguns was illegal, open carry of long guns was legal.

CPL is great, I think everyone (who is legally allowed) should carry. Just don't be one of those "Open Carry" morons who like to display their firearms. No one should have weapons displayed besides Police and Military. No one in the public needs to see you displaying your gun... Only causes people to feel uneasy and on-edge, counter productive. I think it should be legal and encouraged to go up to those idiots, take their gun away, dismantle it, throw it away, and beat some sense into those mental midgets.

This is the stupidest statement in this thread, no wait, post #25 ties it!!

This would be great, but sadly, the Sheep of today's world don't want any guns in our schools, even from teachers, and many schools have policies against a Teacher carrying because of this mindset. And my Wife is a CPL holding Teacher who can't carry at her school, so I know the frustrations.

Retarded statement.
FYI - We "morons" wouldn't think twice about 'poppin a cap'into you if you tried.

I am ex-military and know how to defend myself without a weapon. I just prefer not to get blood on me.
