Yeah I dont see anything that shows they are standard.

Right now the Massey GC1715 is my front runner, it has the most power of all the machines. I got a quote of 15,450 for the tractor, fel and belly mower from the local dealer

I think you can do better than this price.. Check Tractorhouse.com if you are willing to drive a little you may be able to pick one up for less.

You have received a ton of good feedback. I did not even have a computer when I was researching my tractor. You are very lucky and smart to come on here and ask questions from tractor owners across this great land. I was looking on tractor house and saw two 2016 Massey Ferguson 1526's for sale ($16,900 & $ 15,900). Both are located in Ohio. Both are new. For that amount of money you could step up the size of your tractor from a SCUT for close to the same price. Just an idea. You could also look at other brands in that size also for pricing. You would have a heavier tractor, little more loader power, and higher lift capacity at the rear. Plus you would have more ground clearance. I know when I bought my New Holland TC40 I really did not know a whole lot about tractors but I researched the living daylights on everything tractor related in that size. I ended up buying in another state 6 hours away. I got a 20 ft trailer, filled tires, and a loader bucket. I saved $ 7,000.00 driving the 6 hour distance. The same tractor in my state was a whole lot more for the same set-up. The only downside was the dealer was a long way away. Luckily for me I never had any warranty issues. Only thing I would have done differently now would have been to go with the TC45 instead. The tractor was new left over from the previous year. I did the same thing with my Gravely zero-turn. Bought it new leftover from the previous year.

When I bought my tractor I thought it was HUGE. Once I started using it on my land it got a lot smaller.

I agree, this is good advice.. don't think you have to buy in the state. Any dealer will work on it as long as it is under warranty and/or you bring money.

The 15450 price was the out the door price for the tractor, loader and belly mower. Its actually 14100 with the financing options I'm considering so if I pit nothing down it''s around 195/month

Have you physically operated all these choices? How it "feels" to you is important, You should add tractor/loader/mower out the door prices and monthly finance costs to your spreadsheet. They are all kind of equivalent. Here are some differentiators that may or may not make a difference to you:

  • Ease of removing loader (Hydraulic quicl detach couplings)
  • SSQA bucket (skid steer quick attach)
  • Telescoping 3 point ends (easier to hook up attachments)
  • Pin type 3 point stabilizers vs turnbuckles
  • Cruise Control (nice but not necessary)
  • 2 vs 3 Hydro ranges
  • Size / Height of tires (TRACTION)

It is kind of nice to have one additional hydraulic remote if it doesn't break the budget. Once you a close to signing the papers, ask them if they will throw in a rear blade.

Probably a dumb question, but what would be the difference in a belly mower vs buying a pto mower? I found a couple finish mowers nearby for less than $1000. Massey dealer wants $2300 for the belly mower

With the rear PTO mower you wouldn't be able to have anything on the back. Like if you wanted to mow and have a vacuum or bagger on back. Or mow and tow a wagon. Or have to take the mower off every time you want to put an implement on the back. Also, consider maneuverability. In my case, I wanted to mow my entire lawn, including close to the house, with the tractor. I was concerned with a rear mower swinging wide and being an issue. I can pop the loader off in 5 minutes tops and drop a rear implement in seconds after flipping 2 levers on the quick hitch and lowering the arms. That shortens the tractor by a lot for close quarters mowing. I even have a bungee on the chute to pull that up and out of the way when needed.

Mid PTO spins at 2000rpm, 3pt spin at 540rpm and for cutting a yard I would rather have a mid mount mower.

It gets really expensive if you have to add the mid PTO and add the MMM, I have been quoited 6k to add that to a 1533
