Has anyone built doors for a Kawasaki Mule 3010 Trans 4x4?
I am not looking for doors with windows or anything elaborate, just a half door. I raise goats and the doors are to prevent them from getting in on the seats. Also I only need the doors for the front. We usually have the Mule set up for two passengers.
I have a couple of ideas but would first like to see if someone has already built a set.
Thanks, in advance, for your help.

Guess no one has any ideas. Well, when I figure this out I'll post a few pics, if anyone is interested.

I would like to build some doors for my 610 mule. Not anything that necessarily needs to water or air tight, but something to keep the briars out, etc. I have looked at some of the design available commericially, but without seeing them in person it is kinda hard to get a good feel on how to design. Like the original poster of this thread, I would love to see what someone else has came up with.

One of the issues I see, is how to attach some kind of hinges to the roll bar frame. Preferably, would not want to drill or weld the hinge assembly to the roll bar cage. What to make the Frame out of...Like 1/4" rebar, Bends easy and is cheap.

Anyway, thought I would give someone an opportunity to show their creative ideas...
Thanks.

There are alot of examples of home built cabs in the Kubota tractor forum.

I really have no idea how you would hinge the doors with out welding or drilling into the roll bar. There isn't anything else to mount to.

Some thin wall pipe and aluminum would hold the weight down. A combination of epoxy, welding and rivits would do the trick...Some poly for side glass would top it off.

There are also the vinyl velcro versions as well...Don't think it would stand up to briars though...In fact neither will the poly windows.

Get yourself one of those Harbor Frame Compact Benders. It likely comes with the right size die to bend some 1/8" x 1/2" or so steel strip into clamps that you can use to secure the hinges. Or just use some muffler clamps of the right size if you want a redneck look!

I know what you mean, I just bought a new John Deere gator last week. One of my first chores was to replace some tin on the goat barn. loaded up my tools and headed out to the barn. Started work on the barn needed a tool out of the gator there were two goats in the front and one trying to get in the back. So if you come up with a good idea for doors let me know.

Geez, I had completely forgotten about this thread. It is nearly three years old.

Well, I did build my doors. Guess I took the advice of
well i would just get some material and make some your name says it all . have fun.

Used 1 inch metal conduit to build them. Lots of redneck design, with a little Rube Goldberg and Jerry rig thrown in, but hey, they work. Goats can't climb in the Mule anymore.

If you can use anything from the photos Jwaynejtx, go for it.

Pic 1 shows the door open.
Pic 2 shows the top hinge.
Pic 3 shows the bottom hinge.
Pic 4 shows the door open.

Been using nylon string to tie the the doors open and closed. Anyone with a better idea, please share it. The ties have worked well so have not been in any hurry to come up with a better idea.
