Charles and John:

Do you have any estimated costs for your configuration of the remotes?

Vernon: Do you have any pictures of your setup?

I know I am asking lost of questions... Can't help myself! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for all the input,

Joe

The top button closes the grapple and the bottom button opens it. These are electric switches that control the electric diverter valve in picture #3. )</font>

Charles, I think what you have is a "SOLENOID VALVE" and not a "DIVERTER VALVE", they operate very differently.

That is a very nice setup though, Who makes the handle for the joystick? I am looking for one for my tractor...

Joe -

Here's a picture of the joystick loader control with the rocker switch that controls the solenoid. I'll spare you the pics of the plumbing and valve itself - too much like FL's to be much help. My solenoid is mounted in the exact same place - lower part of R/H loader support. I agree with Kenny, I think FL's setup is the same solenoid type as mine, an improvement over the diverter valve approach. I think the rocker switch might be even a little more convenient than the buttons, but now I'm getting picky.

I can't find my paperwork from the install, but the loader handle/switch can't have been more than $100 or so, and I'd put the solenoid around $150-200. Hoses, fittings, labor extra of course.

And as much as I hesitate to be on the other side of the fence from a Nasa engineer, I find this setup indispensible. Bear in mind, I use mine almost daily in my business, and the task is always the same. As I said, I'm constantly using a loader function while simultaneously opening or closing the grapple, all without taking my right hand off the control. But can I build a space shuttle, or put a man on the moon? No. Not even close. I do plan to install my own steering wheel spinner though. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Good luck as you "grapple" with this decision, John D.

kennyd, you are correct. I should not have called it a diverter valve. I have beed working on specs. on service trucks at work and they use several diverter valves, I guess it's stuck in my mind.

The handle is made by "Speedy Loader"

Here's a link to the mfr. of the joystick for my rear grapple. They have a lot of really slick ones, not sure if they have any that will replace your cab-type loader handle.

If I understand this right, the diverter valve actually stops one function to allow another to work and a solinoid valve lets both functions work, just a little slower?
