When he brought it back, the clutch pedal was 6" higher than when he took it. What happened and how do I fix it?
My neighbor borrowed our 9N Ford and broke the three point hitch on a scraper blade. He descretely parked in back in the barn and didn't say a word. He now is not allowed to borrow anything. Period. Some peole have no respect for others property. Sounds like he was riding the clutch pretty hard. Maybe just an adjustment. I hope it's not serious. When he brought it back, the clutch pedal was 6" higher than when he took it. What happened and how do I fix it?
First, have you tried asking you neighbor what occured when the pedal position changed? Also, drop a not so subtle hint that you expect him to be responsible for repairs. If he gets upset by any of that count yourself lucky that he won't expect to use your equipment in the future.

I would guess that he adjusted the linkage and that it can be adjusted back down. The linkage looks fine and the seat has not been moved (I'm reupholstering it). I guess I'll adjust that linkage and see if the pedal will move back down to the normal position, knowing that I'm looking at a clutch replacement soon. I guess the tractor has to be split to replace the clutch?

Last year I broke my own rule and loaned the next door neighbor my weed wacker, came back okwhen and if someone asked to borrow something like that...I have an answer prepared so it's said quick and with a smile. "Oh!, I never lend anything out with an engine, would you like to borrow my shovel and rake?" shows i'm a nice guy but...come on!
