I think you paid too much
I agree, unfortunately there are none listed for the Tradesman on Rockauto.
Saying that, looking deeper they do have the 6 bolt rotors listed which mine is. Knowing that now I probably would have gotten them there but I would have had to confirm that they are for a tradesman model.
Wonder what would happen if a guy with a regular 1500 5 bolt would have ordered a set. If that's what i had, I would have ordered them.

Unless something got real weird, trim level shouldn't matter on brakes on a 1500. Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, shouldn't matter. Unless you know something different.

Now, sons truck... apparently 2003 Chevy 1500HDs, already an odd ball, came with 1 piston and 2 piston calipers... and his is a 2 piston; which I am 99% are the same as the 2500HD. His is 100% an 8 lug, and as far as I know, all 1500HDs are 8 lugs, but his is the only step side 1500HD I've seen.

When I was working the 1500's all had 5 bolt. Reason I know is a new one with less than 10K on it was totaled and I was going to try and get the wheels but they were 5 bolt.

From the 'net and they wouldn't lie....much LOL. This explains why the bolt pattern was different on the totaled truck. I thought it was the Tradesman designation, wish I had know different a month or so ago

But costs 4X as much…..

I can tell you right now, trucks cost 3X what they cost in 2000. I bought (2) brand new Ford Superduty diesels in 2000 from the same dealer. Each truck was $29,000.
Equivalent models today would be $85,000.

VERY few contractors, farmers, etc are making 3X what they made in 2000.

All that being said, they are more powerful & capable, but the cost is tremendous compared to earnings. I would reluctantly admit, I prefer todays trucks. The powertrains are way better, but the complexity of them knocks them down a few pegs….
It's gotten really stupid. Even in the last decade it's gotten crazy. Back in 2016 I looked at a 2015 Ram Power Wagon. This truck either had 38K miles, and they wanted less than $36K, or it had less than 36K miles and they wanted $38K. Either way it was a good price even in 2016, and I wanted to jump on it, but I had just bought a very low mileage 02 Camaro SS that the same dealership had, and I just saw this truck when I passed by and stop with my wife (GF at the time) to look at it. I image a 1 year old Power Wagon with sub-40K miles today would likely pull high $50K to low $60K.

My dad bought a 97 F150 Lariat that had first sold only like 3-4 months before he bought it, and had 6K miles on it. In 97 this was a full loaded, top of the line F150, that was fully optioned with every option minus the OEM CD player, and it was the extended cab, 3 door, 4WD truck, but even thought it was 4WD it get have the Off-Road package. Fords modern day name for the old Off Road package is FX4, or a Z71 equivalent. In March of 97 at 14 years old I was so amazed at how nice it was for a truck. It's crazy how the auto industry evolves. That truck's MSRP new in 97 was $28,900.

Here's that Power Wagon I looked at. It was dirty as they had just gotten it when I stopped to look at it and drive it, and they hadn't had a chance to clean it. These pictures are dating to 10/29/2016:

I’ve been looking for the right class 8 tandem 24’ flatbed truck for close to a year. Come close a few times…..
Having 2 hay hauling rigs would be a big plus for me.
Class 8 tandem is what he uses.

All the best, Peter

Here's my opinion of the Hurricane engine, it's better than the 5.7L Hemi, all day. Do I desire one? No. For whatever reason I just don't warm up to the Rams. I think Ram gives you the most features and niceties for the $ you spend, they handle well on the road, they drive smaller than they are, the ride quality is great, I think the 8L90 (or whatever the 8 speed is called by Dodge) seems to work better with this engine than the Hemi IMO, the overall interior, and audio, materials used, storage, etc are great in the Ram. IMO Dodge has always done new car smell better than most as well. It just doesn't stir me though. The lack of recovery hooks on the non-O/R focused, yet still 4x4 models is some BS. (Toyota, this applies to you also) I like the look of the 19-24 more than the 25's. I hate the Rams gear selector. There were a few other nit picky things I had with it but overall I thought it was a nice truck, but it better be for the $.

I tested a new Tundra I-Force MAX, and I surprisingly really like it, even with its shortcomings. No recovery hook, and the back floor has a transmission hump like the back seat in a Foxbody Mustang or GEN4 Fbody. WTF? Here in 24 they still sell crewcab trucks that can push towards 6 figures, and they still have anything but a flat floor? My OOS 18 JD 5075E has a flatter floor than the Tundra. But overall I liked the Tundra more than the Ram, even though I thought the Ram was a little bit nicer of a package. IDK, the Ram tried to hide it's personality with refinement IMO, while the Tundra is ballsy with the hybrid setup, but rides similar to the Ram with its coil spring/anti-swaybar rear setup. I do also like Tundras composite bed. Really I'm just not gay, and if I wanted to 6 cylinder a full-sized truck, it just seems more right for it to be Japanese than American.

With that said I do own an Ecoboost/10R80 F150, but that's the wifes truck, and family outing with the kids truck. My trucks is an 03 Lightning, and a 18 F150 5L/10R80 truck that's tuned and daily driven on corn gas. It's not that boosting 6 cylinders doesn't work, I judt prefer V8's in my American trucks and performance cars. Really though after driving them all the 3.5L EB, 3L Hurricane, and 3.4L I-Force, boosted 6 cylinders are all competitive as long as they remain reliable. They're all strong and linear, and their power all comes on early in the RPM range. They're all very smooth, quiet, (thank God) and refined engines. On top of that they've all had some teething issues, but that's pretty much expected. Fords kind of licked all of EB's major issues in 2021, and I expect Toyota and Ram to do the same. One advantage to the EB is it's way more tunable, with a much bigger aftermarket than it's competitors. IDK if the ECU's are just locked up on the Tundra and Ram, but tuning on F150 EB took off quick back in 10/11, but that hasn't translated to the other brands boosted trucks for whatever reason.

I always thought the Power Wagon needed the Cummins option.

Why? You're just adding 800-900 lbs to an O/R focused truck. The only time I want a diesel is for towing. Nothing else, especially when talking modern day diesels with emissions. If I'm wanting good MPG's and don't mind sacrificing performance GM's 3L is a viable option. Sometimes I do need them, and barrow one, and their great for their intended purpose, but again if it's not a tow pig then I have no need for a diesel. I'm especially not a fan of a diesel in a 3/4 ton as it eats up a lot of the trucks payload rating, and puts them in the 1/2 ton payload range. IMO a 1 ton diesel makes much more sense than a 3/4 ton diesel. Plus I6's suck for packaging. Dodge claims no Cummins due to the winch. Do I believe them? IDK, is the winch that important? Maybe a Cummins option could delete it? I do believe them that the Cummins won't fit with the winch.

A winch sits on the front bumper, not in the engine compartment. Why would the engine size affect mounting a winch?

I don't think you're a dumb person, but I do feel that you're trying to dumb yourself down appearance wise on here just to quote me. You really don't know? You know what a Raptor is, a TRX? IDK this is just common modern truck guy knowledge I guess.
