Which has nothing to do with it. Thats your opinion. I just got out of Fords because they didnt hold up to real truck usage over the last 20 years. Ram has been much better.
Ram Hasn’t been FIAT since 2020.
Performance won’t suffer when a diesel puts out 2X as much torque. Performance (depends on your definition of performance) is in the eyes of the beholder. My idea of performance is towing, engine longevity and fuel economy.
You've never jumped a tractor off with a gas truck?
You can tell that to my 03 Lightning which has towed plenty of Mustangs and Camaros, and hauled dirt bikes, etc. I've seen multiple Modular F150's with over 300K, even your 3V's that have been maintained correctly will do it no problem. You may have to replace the timing components in the 3V, but what's 300K+ miles worth to you? My parents 18 F350 6.7L DRW has been holding up better than that busted up dash 01 Ram 3500 24V Cummins, 6 speed truck they had before it. Really that Ram was a good truck overall, but was the build quality better than Fords? No. The drivetrain was good, but the chassis, interior quality, steering components, etc, no I'd give it to Ford. Everyone can romanticize about a manual in a 1 ton truck, but driving it sucked compared to a modern automatic.
What are you talking about? Ram is part of Stellantis. Stellantis is a merger between Fiat Chrysler Automotives (FCA) and French owned PSA Group. Chrysler gets whored out to everyone under the sun. Daimler-Benz, Fiat, it seems like more.
What are you talking about? Performance will absolutely suffer in an O/R focused vehicle when you add close to a thousand pounds to the front end. Torque is overrated in many situations, with the exception of towing, and especially in this era with transmissions that can use aggressive gearing to multiply torque. Same reason people want 24-30+ gears in their tractors.
You don't have to buy the Power Wagon. I was just pointing out that it was a good deal, on a truck that's desirable to a lot of people, and is considered one of the best O/R trucks on the market.
I get it, people like their torque heavy diesels that ride a huge torque curve. In my street vehicles that aren't tow focused I prefer a strong gas V8 that will spin out, and pull hard on the big end.
