Well it's finally my turn to say it's here!

I bought a John Deere hat and might have paid way too much,
but the good news is they threw in a new 2520 with it .

It arrived yesterday after waiting 9 weeks and a few days for delivery. It was one of those days busy from sun up to after dark :confused2:.

The dealer experience was pretty darn good. They called me down to the dealer Monday to slowly go over the tractor operation from stem to stern. All questions answered every control explained. It took 1 hour 45 minutes.
I was very surprised to hear the dealer say "we put all the tractors on a DYNO" I beleive he said for 30 minutes to verify everything is running ok and to check for leaks.

It arrived in the nick of time as the town has been ditching the road and argreed to dump it in my yard. So right away after testing the mower deck I took it off and started playing in the dirt.

It's quite a learning curve for me being my first tractor (compact), but I figure moving all the dirt will be great experience.

I'm going slow with my bucket down low, rops up and seat belt on!

I'm sure I'll still have questions, but I wanted to take this time and repeat my thanks to so many of you who have answered my many questions, PM's with pictures and advice. I take my new JD hat off and salute you all :)

Last evening we met with the genteleman who had sold me the #46 backhoe and who had argreed to swap out the (crazy expensive)rear support bracket when mine tractor finally arrived.

A little more touch up paint and two hoses and the backhoe will be ready for prime time.

Very, very nice!!!!! That's a loooooong wait. Glad for you it's now over and the work can begin. Be safe and enjoy.

Always get two hats. One to work and sweat in and one for dress occasions. :D

You will love the tractor. I love my 2720. One thing you need to watch for is clearance from the gas cap to the hood. After some pounding around it may get too close at the front. I took off my supports and bent them slightly differently which solved the problem. Others have done that or added washers at the lower mounting bolts to space it back. If mine closes up again, I will fab new mounts. Let your dealer know about it too.

Again, Congrats! I have owned many tractors, this is one of the nicer ones out there.

Charlie thanks.
Yes I mentioned the gas cap clearance to the dealership and told them people are having trouble. Mine was close. I am very interested in the post by GLC24 with the washers. That looked very promising.

Looking good, Smalltown. Can't wait to see how the backhoe looks on there!

Congratulations and have fun.

P.S. You might want to double check the torque on the nuts on all the loader pins. My dealer didn't check them, and one of the nuts fell off during the first few hours of use on my machine.

Congrats on the new 2520. For the $$ you spent, they should have given you the hat. My dealer pointed to the rack of hats and told me to "pick one". Then he tore off the price tag. Good luck with the new tractor.

Mine gave me 2 with the tractor, I kept one and gave the other to my dad that collects hats. I told him that this is the most expensive hat he will have, an $18,000 JD hat!!!

Thanks REV I really like it so far. Been moving dirt for 8 days.

Taking a little break as a metal hydraulic line gave up the ghost.
It's at the dealers as of today awaiting repair.

I'm a week late, but big congrats to ya. I have a 2720 too and can confidently say you have yourself a great machine!

Funny thing, today is the first time I ever had an issue with the fuel cap/hood clearance....never even heard mention of it. Hours after I loosen the bracket bolts on the front of the fuel tank and push it rearward as my wife retightens the bolts (doesn't hit now), I see this thread.

Tractor safe my friend:thumbsup:
