Change buckets with what? The DK quick attach is actually a little narrow compared to standard so a bucket designed for a real skidsteer QA will slop around a bit. I haven't seen the Kioti buckets for the DK75/90 but would not assume they would be a perfect match. Of course you could weld in some spacers to remove the slop if needed.

I would repeat that nobody seems to complain about the capacity of the standard bucket so unless you know your most important task is to load sawdust or mulch, just use the standard bucket.

I find my QA plate is about as wide as I want, and the horst SSQA plate I added to my manure bucket fits pretty snug in all dimensions. Maybe the newer ones have been made right to spec now?
As for the bucket size, it could be a bit bigger to get maximum use out of the loader. Even heaped gravel is only about 1800-1900lbs so there's some capacity left, and for dirt or topsoil there is alot capacity left. I've been moving a lot of dirt and gravel and a couple extra ft^3 would be nice. But I suppose it would be a bit harder on the front end too.
Also I think this bucket is pretty strong and I don't see myself bending it up at all, so to get a bigger bucket with equal toughness it needs to be heavier again, which reduces the overall lift capacity, so maybe Kioti has found the sweet spot.

Moss, How do u like the ratchet rake?
What do u use it for most?
Thanks,

CM

CM,

It is AMAZING on gravel driveways.

It is doing pretty well on my slash and mulching debris. I have not gotten enough hours due to the fact that my property is waterlogged.

I even used it to scrape some high spots of mostly dirt into some low spots in order to rebury some glass in my temp pasture area. It was popping out some large roots even. When it caught on a stump, it would stop my tractor and rears would spin.

For $199, it is hands down the best bang for the buck attachment yet.

Be well,

David

I bought a set of forks, a plow and a loader mount snowblower designed around the standard skidsteer quick attach system...and there isnt even a 1/16" gap after its mounted. not sure what you mean about alot of slop when hooked up to skidsteer pieces?????

Island, you must have missed my earlier post in this thread. Before I picked up my Dk40 my dealer let me swap buckets, the Kioti for the Bush Hog. It is twice as big as the Kioti(30" deep as opposed to 16"). To be honest the Kioti bucket is undersized for the 401 loader, so I guess I am the frist one to complain about their bucket:laughing:. I move a lot of fill dirt and gravel, so this was a huge savings in my time and fuel. The big bucket with a heaping load of gravel is no problem with the 401 loader. The Q/A on the Brush Hog bucket has zero "slop" and neither does my Forks or Bale spear...no spacers. I have worked that bucket hard and yes I did weld a 2x2x1/4" section of angle iron across the top for extra strength, and I use a tooth bar when needed.

Cj, get the toothbar....it is amazing and comes off in about 10 min...two bolts, that's it. When I want to smooth and back drag I take it off.

I wonder if Kioti has changed the dimensions of the QA adapter. Mine is a 2007 and while technically within specs, it is significantly narrower than my former Horst QA adapter. No issue at all with the vertical height or mounting slots or angle. The factory bucket fits perfectly but my "standard" 4n1, grapple and other front end loader implements all have an inch or two of slop on either side. I forgot the measurement but as I recall it was right at the narrow end of the acceptable "standard" skid steer qa range.

I have a DK-40 and stock loader and bucket, BUT I added the Kioti made bucket bottom edge to give even more strength and to keep the bucket's edges/corners from wearing excessively over extended use, on recommendation of my selling dealer's tech guy. I recently removed it to cut two more holes 4" from center of each corner's closest bolt hole. I had bent the reversible edge bar at both corners due to, ( IMHO, Kioti's not putting holes out close enough to the edge/corner of the bucket), making it vulnerable to being bent when/if it snags on a rock or such.

As noted below in my signature I have an Igland brand winch and Log grapple. Both units are fantastic, (made in Finlandia/ Norway) and the log grapple is amazing, and because it is only 36" wide and weighs around 400+ lbs. it does NOT take up much lift capacity. I've picked up and rolled back and carried 30' complete trees over some distance! Right now both items got a full 8 hours use today; along with my local pro tree surgeon we downed over 4 cords of ash, hickory, maple etc. alongside my road and cut it up and carted it between my and my pro's tractor we did an amazing amount of wood clearing for view and harvesting of the wood for his outdoor furnace. he burns on avg. 100 cords/winter!!

I also have the KB-2485 Kioti backhoe with MIE's hydraulic thumb and NEW (version 2) Ripper Tooth, which I just installed last week. I've dubbed it "the Claw". It's awesome too. I had MIE modify the original design and add teeth to both the front and back side. I used it in 30 degree weather last Saturday to rip through several inches of frost and to rip/tear out a 4-5" root at the base of a stump in my woods, as a test of its effectiveness. I'm favorably impressed.
I too have loaded tires, and the backhoe, when on, provides enough ballast for the grapple or bucket. I too suggest working with the OEM bucket BEFORE you go spend a lot of $ to buy another bucket.

I just picked up at TSC the on sale until supplies are gone, Ratchet Rake, for $199 vs. $349. It is heavy duty and will fit right on your OEM bucket. Yours would take the 72" rake.
It's worth it, IMHO, for those $, just the metal and hardware alone would be worth it, regardless of its functions; grading, picking up brush directly out of the ground, etc. Check it out on their www.Rachetrake.com web site. It is available through TSC, (but is not on their web site), but can be found by having your store do a search for it. The price on Ratchetrakes web site shows $349, but it is $199 at TSC- just ask them. ( No affiliation with either company).

MIE can also sell you a hydraulic kit for running remotes for grapple, etc to front of your loader. I would definitely talk to them about what is available in a kit from Kioti.

Congrats on getting a DK-50! Real nice tractor. Post back questions, pics of your rig, etc.

Sorry for long post.....:)

Ratchet rake is done!! My local store had 1 in stock. CJ

In addition to above, when you drill the holes in the bucket sides, drill them towards the front of the slot on the toothbar, then you can loosen them a little, pull the tooth bar forward and flip it into the bucket so you can backdrag smooth.

I learned this just a few hours AFTER my dealer drilled mine (towards the rear).
