New "B" series catalog..

Back to the original question.... Volfandt, I suspect that you find the new B series suspended decks, depth of cut adjustment, and drive over features interesting. Would you consider an upgrade to these models? If not, why?

Sure, I'd consider an upgrade to a new std B series but allow me to qualify.
Likes:
1) suspended MMM, this was one of the main reasons I chose the BX over the B in the 1st place.
2) as much or more engine HP at lower rpm. Less fuel consumption and lower noise at pto speed is very desireable.
3) greater FEL & 3PH lifting capacity and height. 'nuff said.
4) larger rear wheels. My new BX seat is a vast improvement over the original but larger rears would provide much more cushion and less jarring.
5) large easy to read tach. My BX23 doesn't even have the small electronic one that the later model BX's do.
6) ablility to add a quick attach to the loader.

Dislikes: ( or things I hope they corrected/changed)
1) smaller operators station. The B7510/B7610 was too cramped for me, especially when getting in and out. Everytime I tried one out I'd get hooked on the levers and had to contort around the steering wheel in quick regress. The BX just has more room.
2) Loud HST whine. I thought both the B's I tried out had too loud of an HST whine. After yrs of reading up on them I know that this is just the way they are and do not signify any kind of problem(s), but since my BX23 sans the BH & FEL barely whines in normal operation I expect the B's should too.
3) The overall width seems to be too narrow when compared to how high they sit but I now know that filled rears and setting them out more makes them almost as steady as my BX23 sans the BH & FEL when mowing an incline.

All that said I'd have probably went with one of these new B's over the BX23 had they been around at the time. That is if the BH was as affordable an add-on as it was to the BX ( approx $4K more).

Now my BX23 continues to do whatever it's tasked to do for me and hasn't given me one iota of trouble in 300 hrs, course I could be living on borrowed time with regards to the PS hoses but thats another irritating topic, so if I was to upgrade it wouldn't be because of a "need", it would be just having a desire for something newer and bigger. And, with that in mind any thought of an upgrade HAS to include at least a cursory checkout of a B3030HSDC as a conditioned cab is VERY high on my list of an unecessary upgrades

Volfandt, Thanks for your excellent response. The rear wheels on the new B's are not adjustable for width, and that is one thing I will have to look at in person too, both for stability, and for use with chains. They do look a little high for their 49" width. You can get a quick change option on the loader bucket on the larger B's, but I haven't seen it mentioned for these new ones. It looks like the 3 range hydro robs a bit more power than the 2 range one did, but they are still high HP for their weight, and the larger engine will be appreciated by many. I like the looks of the larger two for running a small chipper.
My initial thoughts are that they will be a welcome upgrade for those coming in to the market, but not necessarily viewed as a necessary upgrade by current users of either the BX, or B7xxx series. Your views seem to agree with that. I found it interesting that you didn't mention the ease of attaching the mower deck as something important to you...... I guess you have no problems with yours.

Hey Chuck, I really don't have much of an issue w/ R&R'ing the MMM. Having a concrete floor no doubt makes it a non-issue. I can definitely see where a drive over MMM would be a very HUGE improvment on an unfinished floor.

I will be definitely checking them out once they start arriving at my local Kubopta dealer(s). I never say never anymore

Yes, I'll be checking them out too if I haven't bought something else already. I sold my BX22 last June, and am really getting tired of being without a tractor!

The new B's boosts a flat deck that is 6-inches longer and 4-inches wider. I think they are shooting for the deck room found on the BX's. The bucket is not deatchable on the 2320 through 2920, I asked because I wanted to add on a root rake. The drive over MMM was one of the many things different from the older B series that interested me. I could of purchased a 7610 a month ago, but I choose to wait for the new model. I guess it was the new bells and whistles that got me. One feature I definetly liked was the new slopped hood and no crossbar for the FEL across it. Being a new operator I want to see the bucket scoop and dump-I think this will help getting use to it alot quicker. Standard with foldable ROPS, that cupholder again, the new psition for the FEL joystick (right buy your right side just above the waist) is waht made me wait. TWO MORE WEEKS!!!!

Yeah, no one around here has brochures yet either, and so far at least one dealer's salesman didn't know much about the machines - "sounds like you know a lot more about the new machines than I do" is what I was told. I'd like to see what the brochure says the hyd. flow is - I really don't think it's 31.4 gpm like the online literature is showing.

Bota2620 - once ATI gets ahold of the FEL, they will begin working on the Quick Attach setup for the bucket - it will be the pin-type, which doesn't look like it'd be that bad to use - I spoke with them about it already. RonJHall has that setup on his B2910 - you can find some pics in the PHOTOS section. The nice thing about the pin-type is it doesn't eat up a lot of FEL capacity.

I'm not sure what to say about the brochures but I was given a new 2008 Full Lineup catalogue and the specific 2008 brochure for the 2320 through 2920. It could be location.
Bandit-the 2008 full line up catalogue does not give total pump output, but the brochure does. I think it is a misprint it shows 31.4 gpm/8.3 liters per minute. I believe it should be 8.3 gpm/31.4 liters per minute. This is slighlty less than the 7610 which was at 9.5 gpm/36.1 liters per minute.
Since were on hydraulics, the new B's hydarulic outlet is a front outlet (with standard valve). Being a new-B myself , I was told that this is what makes the new FEL less expensive. Controlls already built into the tractor.
Other than these two items the rest of the hydarulic specs are the same as the 7610, yes even the quarter inching valve-sorry had to throw that in.
