New B2410 Bi-speed in!!!

I finally had my B2410 Bi-speed delivered on Thursday. It came in about a week ago with the 60 mid-mower and I was just waiting on the grass-catcher. I only had one chance to try it out before it started raining, again. The grass was little damp and there was clippings from previous mowings so the grass-catcher filled up a little too quickly. I am very pleased with the cut and it seems to be more maneuverable than my old lawn tractor with a 36" deck. The Bi-speed really helps!!!

I do have a couple of questions though. 1) What hight should I cut my grass to keep it healthy? I have it set at 3" now, 2 1/2" was too short. 2) My manual does not explain how to level the mid-mower when raised. I am almost sure its done with the adjustible lift rod on the 3 point hitch. But I am unsure what the proper adjustment should be.

"When it started to rain". It's been raining here for almost 2 weeks with only 2 or 3 days break. When will the hurting stop?

I mow shorter in the spring (rainy) and longer in the summer (Hot and dry). Seems to help keep the grass from browning.

To keep your grass healthy follow the 1/3 rule. Never cut over 1/3 of the length of the grass blades off in one cutting. Easier said than done with the rain we have been getting.

Usually,the higher the better.This helps keep the weeds covered to where they won't germ as easy.Leaves your lawn a little more "lush".But,if you adjust your deck to mow over 3" tall,you start to lose a lot of the "vacuum" that your deck creates.You will notice the vacuum loss when bagging also.I leave our decks set at 3" most of the time,unless the grass just gets completely out of hand,then I'll raise them a little.
