Will do. I will be doing most of the maintenance myself. As long as it's not more involved than changing a wing sweep actuator on a B-1 bomber!

Looked at the one site with the skid plates, but couldn't figure out how to order/pricing.....

If you are talking about Bro-Tek, I emailed him and paid through Pay-Pal.

You won't have any trouble with maintenance, I am far from being a mechanical whiz and my wife, son and I do the maintenance on our BX, L and M.

Messick's is a great resource.

I there a MS after that user name?
Congratulations on your order. I ordered/bought my first one 7 years ago when I started building my own home with the help of my wife and brother (retired feather merchant for AF, MWR Chief). Started with a BX2200 FEL MMM. Bought/traded a few more since then.
Here is the do your own service thread and I also bumped it. Can't see me paying anyone wild amount to drain oil and replace a couple of filters, well I do on cars but I enjoy doing it on the tractors most of the time.

1*About the engine make sure the diesel fuel injection pump is set at zero degrees top dead center otherwise it shakes and rattles at idle and creates a lot of vibration.

They have advanced the timing on the small tractor engines to reduce the NOX and Carbon Monoxide levels and diesel particulates to satisfy the EPA's
crack down on small diesel lawn mowers.
Your tractor will have no difficulty with the injection pump timing set to zero TDC where it is SUPPOSED to be nor will starting at low idle and no higher be an issue as the new settings create huge plume of smoke on some models and you can actually hear each cylinders chugging like a JD 2 lung tractor at low idle.

2*If you do not reset the injection pump timing to zero TDC you will not be a happy camper.
1*I've never heard of anyone doing this.
2*Any unhappy campers on here because they didn't do this?

Don't rely on the dealer's delivery prep. Check the fluids!

Congrats! Hope the wait goes fast.

Grease Zerks too. found 3 on my loader that the dealer had "attempted" to grease, as there was a wad of grease on the zerk, but there was paint over the opening, and none went inside.. puts some fluid film or some other kind of penetrating oil on your 3pt. flow control valve (the valve that controls how fast an implement drops) they are usually froze up or will be because they are seldom used. I dont know if the bx has a suspension seat. but if it does it needs lubing too as they freeze up.

AFChief - I apologize for mentioning the Bro-Tek skid plate(s) without giving you ordering advice. Richard's website isn't the easiest to order from but he makes a top notch product. Go to Feedback and enter your name, email address and what you want to order. He will email you back and give you instructions on how to pay with paypal. No worries, he's good people.

As for leonz comments about the injection pump timing, I think he got the BX confused with the B3200. No vibration issues with any BX's that I've heard of or experienced myself. It is a little rough at idle but it's normal. If it bothers you, just bump up the throttle a little and it goes away.

Thanks for your service! I currently work for the Air Force as a government employee and US Army retired.

Hello all. I've just ordered a BX2360 with FEL and a 60"MMM to be delivered next week. What do I need to be ready? I've bought a deisel can and just picked up a Carry-All from TSC. It will be planked and modified this weekend.

Plan on putting her right in the warm shop and put on a coat of wax and silicone on the FEL bucket first thing. Then it going to work!

Recommended tools and supplies to keep the beast rolling?

Congrats!!! When you build your carryall be sure to add some pics! Here is mine: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/projects/192987-my-carryall-project.html

The EPA has mandated lower emmisions for small diesels and the vibration problem does exist and the small engines timing has been advanced in the small TRACTORS but the engines are used in other applications and have not been messed with.
