Well today I found out he has a voice. First time he has said anything. The hound part of him came out. A few short barks & then the ole hound howl.
Fortunately none of my dogs are barkers, only sound off when they have a reason.

He is not as calmed down as I thought ( maybe just hoped ). 1 Big bundle of energy. He is very quick & fast. Just a flash as he goes by the front window.
He was after Little Brat, she is fast, but no match for him. she did outsmart him & took short cuts.

He pushed the door open & came in the house. Not that it was clean & neat to start with, now it looks like a tornado hit. I was asleep, so don't know how long it took.

Jim,
:laughing::laughing: Do you have a lockable door knob? Or is he turning the knob? Does he knock before entering?:confused3:

My red heeler was a rescue dog so wild that she would not drink out of a water bowl she did not trust. She would find a wet spot on the ground and dig down to find water.

It took me a year and a half you get her to 100% obey, but now I have THE BEST dog I have eve had.

Sort of like a 3 or 4 year old child. He does know not to come in & doesn't when I'm watching. Door was slightly ajar & pressure from the swamp box push's on it pretty hard. He was not actually destructive, more of just knocking things over & around. His head is like a battering ram & anything it misses his tail does the rest.

Tom, if it takes a year & 1/2 I may be forced to kill him.

More later.

that was 100%, the last 10% took the last year.

AH! Shucks, does that mean I can't kill him??:laughing:

He & the girls have sort of made peace. Bobby (Mother girl) just has her don't bother me growl, like she uses on Brat. Brat was pretty Leary for a while, still cautious, but comes in to get her back scratched. He is real jealous & tries to push her away or get in between.

A little up date on "Little Boy".

I should have named him Turd, PITA, Ornery or something along those lines. He isn't being badj just Ornery.

First the fun part. Puppy Love is in full bloom around here. He & Little Brat are having a love affair. I'm not real sure how dogs conduct them selves when in love. But the 2 of them have really started to play & have fun with each other. She teases him & gives him kisses now & then. His big show of affection is to nibble with his front teeth. Pinches when he nibbles on me. Brat seems to like it. Gently bites her ears & even had her whole head in his mouth yesterday. She sneaks up & nibbles on his front foot now & then. Sometimes giving him kisses or cleaning his eyes & face.

A while back I threw out some old donuts, Brat had tried it a time or 2 & really didn't like it. Little Boy tried to steal it. She really got on the prod over that & tore a good sized rip in his skin. It should have had some stitches, but the fight of getting him in the truck ruled that out. I did get some smear & Blue-Kote in it a few times. Then Little Brat took over the doctoring, Cleaning the wound out several times a day. It is now down to just a tiny spot & almost gone.

Managed to get Little Boy in a harness once. Used it to tie him up, he slipped out of it.

More later as the saga moves along. I do think he is over 90# at this time & yesterday he wanted to get in my lap. :confused3:

Jim,
Yea, he is a true lap dog. I adopted a 5 month old puppy. She is an Austrian Cattle Dog named Blue Bell, cause she reminds me of Blue Bell Cookies and Cream ice cream. Blue Bell 007.jpgBlue Bell 005.jpgBlue Bell 001.jpg

Cattle dogs are fun. Mine was a little mouthy at first (as in griping everything with her mouth).
