This is the north diversion ditch/french drain. It's about 20" or so deep and about 3' across at pad grade. Buck and I got the geotex, pipe, and gravel laid in it this afternoon just before dark in about an hour.

This is the east diversion which will be behind the building. It's at least twice as long - probably close to 100' - as the north ditch. We have to get it done before they put the sheetmetal up cause once that's done there won't any easy way to get the gravel back there. I figure we got two days at most .... if we are lucky.

This is about where the front edge of the building will be (just to left of the center of the image .... you can see a corner stake in the middle rear of the image)

In about two days or so the crew will need to start bringing the materials down to the pad and I will have to have this 16 ton pile of sand moved. I had them stick it here .... it was about the best place available at the time but now it's in the way ..... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

One thing I have learned about materials on this project - if you can have them spread it, do it. If you can't, have them place it as close to where you want it as possible.

I have the remainder of a load of washed No. 57 sitting up at the shed in the background of this image .... moving down to the pad doesn't excite me a whole lot ..... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

This is the current state of the turnaround ..... about half-done and pretty much worthless (as most half-done things are) ...... supposedly the weather is going to warm up a little in a week and I might be able to finish yet this year ....once the snow melts so I can see what the heck I'm doing.

Parting thought:

Lord, give me snow and cold frozen ground anyday ....... over rain and cold, wet mud.

Ooops .... forgot one.

This is a picture of PineRidge leaving the premises. Today one of the guys from Cleary came out to shoot grade on the site .... for a variety of reasons it didn't go well and took about 4x the amount of time it should.

About the time Glen from Cleary was leaving, up pulls PineRidge, man of leisure, in his luxury SUV. I got a pot of coffee brewing inside so I suggest he come in and grab a cup ..... to which he's replies "Are ya hungry ? Wanna go grab a bite to eat ?"

It's 1 PM, I haven't really got a thing done all day so far, the crew will be here tomorrow at 8 AM to start, I don't have the drainage done .... and here comes Mikey, wantin' to go 'nosh.

So anyways, I sez "Sure, why not" .... so we proceed to head down (in his vehical) to the local Subway (after I sucessfully talk him out of MickeyD's) and grab a bite. After that, back to the house and I suggest he slide in for a quick cup of coffee ......

About 10 minutes later my neighbor Buck drops in ...... and it just goes downhill from there ....... I can see the day is a going to be a total washout.

So about 4 PM, Buck mentions that he just thought he'd stop down and see if I needed any help (he's currently out of work and I've been having him help me on and off with this project when he's not out looking)

Anyways, at that point Mike gets up and starts moving to the door, mumbling something about how he's got to get going or Rose is going to beat him with a frying pan, been gone too long already, etc., etc. and before I can even get off the chair to see him out I hear the front door shut behind him.

I looked around for the digital camera, grabbed it and flipped it on while I'm hearing tires peel out on the blacktop up here by the house. By the time I could get the camera raised up and snap off a shot the attached image was all I could get of the scoundrel ..... this was just as he turned left behind the old shed.

......... sheesh ........ some people ..

Mike,

( A man's got to know his priorities, burp! )

I hear ya (relaxing now with a Kaluha and creme .... oh wait ... that's not food exactly ....)

I was out on the pad until 10 PM this evening .... I think the temp was about ... oh, say 12º ..... fortunately no wind. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

All the holes got drilled, all the poles set, the skirt board got put on 3 sides, and they got 2 rows of girts up on the back wall before they knocked off for the days. It would have been all girted but we ran into some "issues" as you know.
