New Generator

   / New Generator #11
I agree, run it often. I have two generators. In the owner's manual one said run every two weeks and one said run every three weeks. I run them both at the end and middle of each month. I have an electric heater for each one and run them loaded for about 15 minutes. The complaint you hear over and over is "I have not run my generator for 6 months and now it won't start or put out power if it does". Run per manufactures recommendations with a load. Also occasionaly power what you expect to run during power outages. Don't wait until the power outage to find that you don't have the right connector (a friend did this).

Use a fuel stabilizer and run the carb dry after each use. Fuel shutoffs are cheap and easy to install if you don't have one.

when i first got mine i ran it every 3 months. (but i havent done that in a year pluss now) Id put a cup of gas in and and run it till it went dry. (not having to worry about stale gas)

it will likely get retired once we are on the property in favor of a PTO driven unit.

Ive considered dissasembling the unit and converting it to a PTO and useing the motor for some other use....
