appreciate it. he probably won't raise the price too much after eharing that.

naw.
john smith is a great guy. Him and a coupleothers like RickB here on this forum. very safe guys to do business with. good people. always ready to help you out with good advice.. etc.
earlier this year when i had to rebuild the top end on my 4000 i got some pushrods from john smith and some great advice from rick and john.
apparrently there were a couple different rods and valve trains used.. so finding correct parts was a lil fun. NH wanted 18$ for one..
mine looked like spagheti!
a user here made a funny comment. he said push rods were like 'fuses' for engines. i had to laugh at that one.
good luck.
I think a good salvage cover is the real good fix for your issue. in a pinch if parts or $ were tight you could weld.. but a swap is better.
plus.. you may get lucky and the cam may not be badly worn. if it is.. you can weld it up BEFORE you assemble the cover with all your good parts.. plus.. since your cover is damaged.. you have less to worry about when taking the rockshaft and arms off as some people have busted them taking them off.. no pressure here though as yours is ALREADY busted... so almost a win win...
best of luck.. you got some wrench turning ahead of you... ( but nothing difficult... the hyds on the 55-64 machines are pretty straightforward.. just a bit tedious...
