A little more info here www.mbtractor.com.
Does anybody knows along with the CVT is there any other gearing is used to archive ranges (low, med, high) so creep, low gear/high torque could be achieved. A robust CVT may be the right medicine for guys like me on the fence that is pulled between Synchronized gears and HST.
One of our service guys have seen the tear down. Its a chain, not a belt. It runs in an oil bath. The whole unit is a little larger than an HST. Apparently their reliability testing is comming back really good.
I've not had any experience with CVT's in auto's but I do understand that a CVT has around 40% fewer moving parts than an automatic. Perhaps someone on here can give us a mechanical breakdown of the system and how it works.
