They should have put a set on the pipe . 2 45s on each bank and bury the pipe deep enough to stop erosion . They got lazy . No 90s , 2 45s .

I wouldn't put any 45's or any angled joints on the pipe. The trench needs to be dug deep enough on either side of the creek to gradually flow under the creek. Sharp angles, even 45's under ground, give the soil something to grip onto and pull the pipe apart.

When making a turn, my Water District uses these massive, iron fittings that you bolt together with at least a dozen bolts around the flange. Maybe more, I'm going off of memory. It's very seriously strong!!!!

Instead of using a fitting to make a turn, they highly recommend a long gradual bend in the trench making the turn if possible.

The builder came out and took a look at it. He is going to have that section re-done and run through a sleeve. Looks like there wont be any bends/angles. I will keep an eye on it throughout the build. I appreciate all of the advice.

When we built there was several issues that I just got tired, and rolled over and said, "ok, it will probably be alright" Well it wasn't and wished I would have put my foot down.
Eddie above is 100% correct, don't see how sleeve is going to fix it. Chances are not going to want to go back and do it right, as a PITA. Keep list of what you rolled over on with the builder and there will be others, so that you can point it out when you really want it done.

Things have been progressing - the grading contractor is almost done with the road. He was doing final shaping and laying down fabric today. The remaining crush and run should go down tomorrow. The power company came out yesterday to look at putting in the temp. power pole. I saw today that they had already started working on the electrical - next day turn around! I was impressed.

Will Rye grass take root in the winter? I need to get something into the ditches and run offs - suggestions?

I really appreciate the suggestions to add some electrical cable while the water main ditch was open. Also took someones suggestion and had three water shut-off valves installed throughout the 1300' run.

Here are some pictures...

Please keep the comments coming!!!

The weather is cooperating with us again.... They came out and did final grading for the foundation. They have marked the ground and will be back tomorrow to start digging the footers. Here are some pictures from this afternoon.

Is that a basement layout or crawlspace ? Are the boxes piers or to protect the pins ? That is big , going to watch . Hope you have a good digger .

It's a crawl space. I believe the boxes are for piers.

I've never seen that before. What did they use for the lines? Did you get any pictures of what they used or how they figured out where to put all the lines?

Is this going to be a concrete slab foundation? I'm assuming the purpose of the lines is so the plumber can set all his drain and vent lines in the correct place. Will you be running any water or electrical lines under the slab? Like for a kitchen island?

I've always just figured where the front door is going to be, run a string for that line, set my forms, then work my way around the outside perimeter. Then after my forms are set, I measure and mark the top of the forms where my walls will be so I can figure out where my drain and vent lines will go. This is how I've seen it done on every job I've ever been on. Your way looks nicer. I just wonder how much faster it is, and what it takes to create all those lines?
