Air sealing must be a code requirement - builder had someone come in and spray foam most every opening. They also caulked along the sill plate of the exterior walls.

Personally, I think Eddie is trying to help
But I also think he is trying to show that he knows better.

After reading his thread about the foundation he was going to use and some other of his posts about putting water lines higher than the frost line, he is not the expert builder he portrays. He is a good craftsman and a remodeler.

ummm, he lives in Texas, not Michigan. We don't care about a frost line down here.

It is looking good Justin. When you hope to move in?

A frost line here is what happens in the beer cooler.

Justin, have no worries, they are doing a good job. There is always a better way but it isn't always economically feasible. I have over 30 years related to the building trade, on multiple fronts, what they are doing is accepted and fine.

The builder expects to be don't by the end of May. Hopefully we will move the first part of June.

No, he was advising some other member who does live north enough to have frost.

Looking good.

I know when i was building, i didn't have the internet and the online experts to ask, so there were those "ship or get off the pot" moments when i just had to do something to keep things moving, may not have been the best way, but it worked in the end.

justin I see they paint the floor (orange dots) near water and electric. Is it not a code to use a metal protection plate at the bottom cord (within 1 1/4" of the stud surface of the wall) where wires or water penetrate to protect them from drywall screws or nails.
