Tractor
John Deere 2720
I went shopping for a new tractor.
I like the size and looks of the 2520, priced a new 2011 it with 200CX FEL and JD46 Backhoe at $23,500 ($6700 for backhoe WOW!)

Anyway dealer called me and he just got in a on trade a used 2006 3320 with 300CX FEL (with 62" bucket-- same bucket as 2520) and the JD48 backhoe.
The tractor has 600 hours and was sold new by this dealer. He priced it at $24,000.

The 3320 is really not that much bigger then the 2520 (measures 6" wider and about 2feet longer) but seems to be built a LOT stronger and heavier.

I know I will probably push the 2520 to its limits and I think the 3320 is a little larger then I really need.
But it is nice to have a bigger machine when you really need it.

How do these prices sound?

Should I go for the New 2520 or the USED 3320?

I think the price of the 3320 (even with the backhoe) is a bit high ($19K sounds right), that's the tractor I'd go for.
BTW, your profile indicates you already have a 2520. Why buy another one?

That does sound high for the 3320, I'd try to get it for 20,000 or less if it were me.

A couple years ago I paid $25,000 for my used 3320 which only had 90 hours on it and included the CX300, 47 backhoe, JD rototiller and pallet forks.

Depending upon the work and projects you have in mind -- if you could ever foresee the need for a more capable tractor in the future -- go bigger up front!!

Or suffer the $$$ consequences of upgrading and taking a hit on your newly used 2000 series machine.

The 200CX vs the 300CX and the 46 hoe vs the 48 BH is not even a real contest..

And having a 3 range tranny and another 8hp is a major step up!

Work a good deal on the low hour 3320 and don't look back - IMO.

What warranty terms should I ask the dealer for?
I was thinking 100hours or 1 year..
I would think I should get at least 30hours/30days?

You can ask for anything you want, but don't be surprised if he says it's "as is".
My old 670 (600 hours when I bought it) was sold as is...same with my 4400 (800 hours when purchased). But my dealer wants repeat business and good word-of-mouth.He doesn't sell junk.
