I agree with Brett, around planting and harvest time, farmers come first and I'm completely fine with that. They should come first over a weekend warrior. It's like saying a gunshot victim has to wait on 3 stained ankles before they get treatment.
That being said deere will support you all the way down to a garden tractor, same with Kubota, to say one companies service is better compared to the other based on the equipment they sell is a foolish statement.
Deere does sell bigger equipment but Kubota also sells a 170hp tractor, every Kubota dealer I have seen around here couldn't handle service on a larger machine, there shops are too small so idk if they sub the work out? The local JD shop is a complex, they have about 30 acres with tractors, combines and everything in between, heck they have 25-30 each on the 1,2 and 3 series tractors alone, they really move the inventory in that place.
But there parts or service department still wants your business, they still have to pay the pit crew in the back lol.
My experience is under 40hp with the JD dealer, I went in there to have them price me a 3038E also order some parts for a JD 445 garden tractor and was treated just as good as a local farmer I know that happened to be in there. that farmer runs nothing but JD equipment, his biggest is a 250hp articulating tractor and he has 1000 acre farm, I didn't feel like he got any better treatment than I did at the parts counter.
As far as the "E" series goes, I hate them and will never own one in the 1-3 series range, I have talked to quite a lot of guys on here with bigger "E" series tractors and voiced my issues on the smaller "E" series and they didn't get the same opinion from the bigger tractors, so I would agree to stay away from the 1-3 family "E" series tractors, past that they aren't nearly built as cheaply.
My tractor came out of Augusta Georgia and has 850 hours on it. My 2005 4320 has a turbo charged 48hp 2.4L 4 cylinder, HST and is closer to an "R" series today. I have had Zero Quality issues so far but I wasn't the original owner.
I would buy the tractor that came out of the factory with the highest Quality Inspection, which as far as what I have seen is usually South Korea or a US factory. India factories were kinda hit or miss from the reviews I have read online from various brands.
Honestly I don't think you can go wrong either way, I'm surprised to read that the Kubota is superior in more than a few categories, in the smaller non grand L and the 3E tractors, Deere would be the winner for me, they both were within $1000 but the Deere was heavier, had wet clutch where the Kubota didn't and the Deere could lift 150lbs more on the FEL.
The JD Quick attach is a little bit of a handicap but hasn't held me back from finding used attachments.
I read this entire thread and got the impression many times that guys were pushing the color of the tractor more than the tractor itself.
I guess to simplify it for you, if both tractors can do the tasks you ask, I would look at weight, lift capacity and PTO power. With those in mind whichever one has the best local dealer and shop is the one I would choose. I don't think the Kubota will last much longer than the Deere or vise versa but when working you need weight, PTO HP and loader "full height" lift capacity.
You can compare and argue about the rest of the tractors for days which is what I did, I ran out of things to compare so I compared what rubber they had on them lol. All we're USA made titans btw (Kubota, Mahindra, Case and NH. Wasn't sure on deere)
