Buying Advice New L3560 Limited and Standard Versions

Thanks Fallon. I'm not adverse to the Limited Edition; I just think the 4-cylinder and a little more power might be better for me. I also kind of want the 12V outlet and the factory work lights.
No you dont... the OEM rear lights are $150 for 2 crappy halogen housings & a switch. The wiring is all there & is just a matter of plugging in a standard switch & the lights. Granted the plug for the lights is something wierd & you are better off cutting that off & using a standard connector. But a pair of LED cubes or mini bars are $40 & give off way better light. The front & rear setups are identical except the fronts come standard on normal machines. Not a lot of light off the OEM halogens. The headlights are even worse, but mostly because they are mounted low & generally just glaring off the back of your bucket.

I went way overkill on my setup that I think I linked earlier. I might have been able to get away running 1 of my 50" LED bars on the stock wiring & switches. I love the massive amounts of light, but if I were to do it over again I might just use 4 8-12" mini bars.

I cant dispute the factory 12v. I have my heated seat cover plugged into mine. I dropped a USB charger into the standard rear light knockout when I did my overkill wiring job.

Extra HPis always good though if you are doing PTO work. My machine is a good match HP & traction wise. More HP would mostly just make the tires spin more. But its useful to spin the mower.

I checked it out after you mentioned it. Does it sound OK? I see it has bluetooth which was one of my requirements. I see it also has a clock. Does the instrument panel of the Grand L have a clock built in or not?
Thanks
Yes, there is a clock on the IntelliPanel or whatever their name is for it.

Stock speakers are plenty ok. Not great, but entirely adequate for a noisy tractor.

How much were the step and handle?

I'd actually want the mirrors, too.

Seems you can add your own USB charger ports...maybe user Fallon did?

Perhaps the Limited Edition is the way to go...save some money and add what I want. Cruise control would be nice. I would definitely order the rear wiper and work light kit and radio though.
The handle and step were $69. I think the cruise is $81 but it is backordered.

I did not want the mirrors or the factory lights. I took the Lollie pop lights off of the back as I don't leave my property. The huisache and mesquite grab everything.

Already a lot of scratches on the fenders. Hood and all are doing good though the loader protects them well. Just turned 25 hours this evening.

Decided when I bought it that it was a tractor and I was going to use it as such. Do not plan on abusing it but for sure not a garage queen.

Sound, it is fine, it is tractor radio, so I don't expect the highest quality like I have at my house or in my car.

My Grand L has the clock on the LCD display.

Thanks. Nice to have a clock.

I'm not really a fan of light bars. On my current tractors I have Rigid cubes front and rear. I can't stand cheap chinese LEDs, even though I know some work fine. I wonder if you could replace the halogen bulbs in the stock work light housing with LED bulbs. I like the stock look. But light is important to me, I do work at night a fair amount in the fall / winter. Having a cab would make me more likely to work later.

My rep ignored my email all day yesterday, maybe he was on vacation. I might consider the Limited since it is a fair bit cheaper. It seems the 4060 is slightly longer than the 3560, and the 6060 is longer than all of them?

Thanks! Cheap enough. My tractor does leave the house, mostly on a trailer, but I have a few jobs along the road side.

I tested a cheap amazon LED work light on front (just moved one of my rear ones to the front for testing) and the cheap LED's increased radio static. However the cheap LED's in the rear do not bother the radio signal. I have since found a $13 set of halogens at harbor freight but have not mounted them or tested yet.

I know the tire size affects length. The L3560 & L4060 have a smaller front axle than the rest (leading to not being able to use the big loader). I'm not clear if the engine & hood on the bigger Grands is any longer though. When I researched my L4060 a couple years ago I chalked any differences in dimensions up to bigger tires.

Halogens & LEDs (HIDs too) emit light from different spots & have different focus requirements. If you put a LED bulb in a halogen housing it doesnt aim where you want it. Really bad in road vehicles blinding oncoming drivers. Less of an issue on a tractor, other than not getting the light you need where you need it.

LEDs also are really sensitive to heat. Halogens naturally get hot & dont care. If a LED gets hot it frys. That's why all the LED cubes or bars have those big heatsinks in the back. LEDs are more efficient & put off less heat, but still put off a fair bit if heat, enough to cook themselves. You can put a heatsinks on the back of a retrofit LED bulb in a h as logon housing, but it's got a small interface to get the heat out of the housing & works poorly.

I hear you on the cheap LEDs. One of my $70 bars got a bit of a leak & the other causes a lot of radio static. The light is worth it though. I may swap them out to better bars here at some point. Ridgids or something if my wallet can take it.

I added an $115 alpine stereo with bluetooth, usb outlet, audio streaming... to my 3560 LE with an ebay harness ($11). Factory wiring antenna and speakers were already there.

So I got my quote and it turns out my closest dealer has a 4060 in stock. I went down after hours to look it over and it really is an incredible machine. I'd be trading both my MX4800 and L2501 to get it though. After giving it some thought, as much as I like having two tractors, I'd rather have one really nice machine that performs somewhere in the middle of those two but will be a lot more comfortable from many standpoints.

I'm pretty much set on buying the 4060 over the 3560-LE. I just simply want a little more horsepower since right now I have an MX and as it is, the 4060 will be a downgrade in terms of loader capability and PTO power.

It's amazing how refined these things are though - quiet cab with heat and a/c, stereo, front / rear work lights, wiper / washer, electronic cruise, 12v outlet, tilt wheel, message center display, clock, etc. The HST+ transmission is impressive. I really like the auto-throttle feature; doubt I would ever use or need stall guard. The half-range shift seems really nice too.

What would be a reasonable price on the L4060 cab tractor? It has the 805 loader and R4 tires and seemingly no other options (no rear work lights, no rear wiper, no rear defroster, etc). My rep is telling me $42,xxx. Going on Kubota build and price, that appears to be window sticker. What is a reasonable discount?
