New Non-Emission Tractors

I’m no environmental snowflake myself, but I’ve traveled to 43 countries at last count and all you gotta do is go to any city in a third world country to experience the raw pollution from emissions free diesel cars and trucks.

You smell it the instant you step off the plane, the acrid diesel soot coats the insides of your nose, mouth, eyes, and ears. Blow your nose and it comes out black. Add to that the smoke from locals burning wood and trash to keep warm in the winter.

We have a lot to be thankful for and every time I get back to the USA, I feel so thankful for the clean air and the good roads and all the conveniences that actually work.

I’m not a fan of forced regulation and expensive pollution controls on our machines but it makes a difference in the air we breathe.

Me either and like said above at some point you have to say enough is enough. Ive been to Sao Paolo Brazil and coming through the mountains it looks like there was clouds above the city, well it wasnt clouds. Im not saying every policy is great or which one works and which ones do. But I do know if one cup doesn't hit the dumpster from each person in this country each year and there are 350 million of us, that's 350 million less cups in the ground per year. Pennies add up to dollars at some point.

Its really short sighted to think just about me, at some point we should think about our kids and their kids. Contrary to some peoples beliefs the earth as whole is not a renewable resource on its own.

Zetor sold tier 3 tractors in Canada in the 80hp less class up until the end of 2018. The jd 524k wheel loaders were also tier 3 in Canada up until the same date.

These new emissions diesels are pure garbage.

Except.....it's hard to argue with the FACT that the new Kubotas have nearly zero issues. The system is working inspite of all the fear mongering. Thank you George Bush for your foresight :)

On the contrary, many skilled and knowledgeable scientists and engineers work on these issues for their entire careers..

And they are much more qualified than some dirt farmer from Graceland, Texas.

I've not been to 43 countries, only 10, but what he says is true. My wife & I went to Tahiti for a few days, and you'd think with it being an island and the sea breezes there wouldn't be any pollution. At rush hour, it's worse than Los Angeles.

I really like clean air (and water and everything else), just be careful of costs for the entire manufacturing chain, not just the end product. As much as I'm against big government interfering in our daily life, it does have it's benefits from time to time.

I won't even get into this debate but having emission controlled engines in big rigs and heavy equipment.....there is NO WAY ever I will deal with that ridiculous crap that does nothing to save the environment in my personal at-home life. NO WAY. And I just bought a 1955 Allis Chalmers to ensure that.
Try getting a $30,000 bill replacing the SCR system on a Detroit Diesel and see how much you like it.

So how do you think the environment is getting saved? How many factories have to make the DEF fluid, the plastic jugs and totes it goes in that you see in every garbage can and ditch along the highway. And all the components that get replaced on my big trucks weekly that go in the garbage. And all the van and tanker trucks that have to run to deliver all that DEF fluid. And the 4.7 US gallons of fuel my DD15 Detroits burn every time they do a parked regen where the truck is unproductive because you can't move it. And that is every 8 hours in the winter.

That's the thing about environmentalists......one sided and tunnel vision.

I'll take the death. Haven't you heard....EVERYTHING causes cancer now anyway. I'll leave it at that before I explode.

Depending on where you are that might not be an option for business owners... lots of business owners had no choice... upgrade or go out of business when it comes to diesel equipment... not only over the road but chippers, tractors, generators, etc...

About a year or so ago I stumbled across an article specifically addressing this subject. The article stated that each manufacturer was allocated a set number of tractors that could be manufactured for sale that did not meet Tier 4 guidelines after they took effect. After that number is met then all units must meet Tier 4. This was supposed to help the lower volume manufacturers financially. Can't remember where I read it though.

OK....so then it is like I said with the big class 8 truck makers......they had emissions credits to build a certain number of non-compliant engines until those credits ran out. You are likely correct. Thanks.

BUT.......we are not those countries. Canada produces less pollution than almost anyone. Why? Because we have vast forests and trees that need and use carbon to survive and those trees and forests clean the air further. Even soil traps and holds carbon.

I'm no scientist....you just have to look it up or talk to farmers.

Doesn't 90% of Canada's population live within 100 miles of the US border? We share our pollution😀 Canada also has vast amounts of permafrost soil that holds or sequesters carbon and other greenhouse gases.......until it melts. That's happening now.

Pollution is a global problem and needs a global solution. Many of us have seen the world population more than double in our lifetime....what does the next 50-75 years have in store for our kids?

I'll gladly pay a few more bucks for a clean burning tractor if it means my kids will live on a habitable planet.
