I am replacing a bent filter right now. I forget the replacement cost for the filter but as I remember it was a "coming to Jesus" moment.

Some people just need stickers :D

Others need toolboxes, mirrors, lights, more lights, radio, cooling fan, did I mention lights?

The mirrors are a good idea. I was mowing backwards up a hill yesterday and was wishing I didn't have to crank my neck around all the time.

I agree Cindy,
Mirrors are on the short list!

Today I looked at my metal scrap pile and sorted out parts for a Chainsaw mount. Pretty successful, the saw will rock back and forth, I’ll address that with some sort of lockdown mechanism.

First generation attempt. Adjustable rubber foot to support the saw case. Bucking bars teeth support weight too. Chain Bar does not bare weight. Made a clamp for the bar but not really needed. Spring on bolt keeps it from moving from vibration.

2nd attempt. Bolt on. Saw will fit either way. I take a lot more stuff when working. Just as important bring stuff back.

Maybe some nubbs to engage the bucking teeth would keep the saw from rocking?

Good fabrication skills. Enjoy seeing how tractors can be improved for work tractors are meant to do.

Thanks Smokeydog, great job on your Swiss army carrier!
I added a lockdown, similar to yours, should do the trick.

Got the call yesterday, grapple was in. I picked it up today,
and honestly, I did not know something this awesome was missing from my life, how have I gotten along without one for the last 51 years?
Modified brush guard already paid off.
I zip tied the hoses, I‘m a bit concerned they may not be protected too well, any guidance?

Agree the grapples have been a game changer and huge work multiplier on the farm for over 25 years. Back then had to diy modify tractors to use skidsteer stuff.

Bungee the hydraulic lines to FEL crossbar helps keep them from trouble. Some of the newer grapples come with a spring line slack keeper.

I don't get into brush to often, but I think your mods are perfect. The filter guards are really important. Doesn't take much to get a stick up in there. Love the fab work, looks better than factory.
