I already knew it was a Yanmar, or I probably wouldn't have bought it. It says Yanmar right on the motor. That is what I was saying, the Yanmar I had was from around 1977, and they are still building them the same way, so if its not working for you, then that means you must be doing something wrong.

I use crossed chains with no problems on my 1602D, and yes those rear tires are narrow. The pins on my implements are on the inside, with my crossed chains it works easily for mount/dismount..............
For pins pointing out, the outside chains would work better........
