Thanks riptides. I still have my little red, folding step stool from my last camper. It will help me get up to the running board and on into the truck. What's really cool. Open the door and I can stand, flat footed, look across the front seats and actually see the door handle on the passengers side. No, I don't think it will be that tall, but it's gonna be up there.

Bear with here, for a short one - my 2018 BMW R1200GSA. It's the BMW motorcycle with the big, bulbous 8 gallon gas tank. The Harley was great - 26" seat height. I rode it like a crazed idiot for 24+ years. The BMW - 34" seat height. All of a sudden, I'm vertically challenged. So, before I have some sort of embarrassing situation - I go to White's Boots in Spokane. Have them put 3" soles/heels on a pair of work boots. Tell the boot master - "If this makes me look like Elton John, the deal is off". He turned away - I could see his cheeks puffed up - his neck is turning red. Thru uncontrolled fits of laughter he manages to choke out - "Don't worry - you will NEVER look like Elton John".

Bottom line - I now am able to ride with confidence & support the new bike with feet outspread and flat footed. The world is, once again, all right.

Hahahaha Good one, Elton! My butt is to close to the ground also. Less distance when we call.

I predict that there will be more talk of extracting your oil, rather than messing with the drain plug. I like to rotate my tires at least every other oil change, and with 7-9000 mile intervals doing it every time isn't that bad of an idea.

In my original comment I was mostly referring to the difference in shifting though; after driving the Chevy all week I need to remember not to just drop the Ranger from reverse to drive before coming to a full stop.

I was somewhat surprised to find that the PW requires full synthetic on oil changes. I got the lifetime oil changes as an option. Bet the full synthetic they use on the truck isn't near as expensive as my BMW cycle oil. Like my previous Harley - BMW oil comes in BMW jugs. I purchased the five quarts & filter - just in case. Five quarts of BMW full synthetic motorcycle oil - $85. If I ever need to use that oil - save the jugs. Sell them back to whoever is making the oil. H**L - the jugs alone are probably worth $5 each.

Learned just this afternoon. The new PW just cleared final quality control at their Saltillo plant. It now starts it journey north. This plant is in far NE Mexico. My previous determination of the vehicle location was certainly in error.

Interest - still.........is it all simply corporate greed. I always figured, I wouldn't buy a new vehicle or even need to. Drive my 2005 F-150 until something died. Well, my F-150 is on its last legs and there is no company, in my area, to refresh the thing. I really dislike pouring money into a dying thing.

Again, I'm most fortunate. The new PW will be purchase with cash, no financing involved. All the cash in our world will be of no value to me after I'm gone.

I didn't have to twist my arm hard to decided this. But, does it really need everything humanly possible on it. I guess I had three choices - walk - buy what was available - order and wait.

Right now I'm waiting for this new vehicle to make the trip from the Ram facility in Coahvila, Mexico to Spokane, WA. It passed final QA inspection last Wed and is now on its way.

I wonder, how much longer would I wait if I special ordered a PW. I want to live to see 100 - there are no guarantees.

geoduck - I appreciate the offer, even if in jest. However, if I GAVE you the vehicle - I want to remain a friend and would always be concerned about your return, And I've very sure your return would not be under the best of terms. Let us remain friends - I will sell it to somebody who will know exactly what they are getting.
