New Pole Barn Started

I never heard of the hooks before. They sound like an interesting idea, but I'm always nervous about being the guinea pig trying something new that will take decades to see if it worked or not.

For me, it's rebar that is set on chairs every 16 inches and tied together. Proven and effective.

I haven't heard of them either.

As to the drains, a 48" bowl isn't enough. The slope to the drains should be large enough to cover a vehicle parked over them. Even better would be a slope to the walls so any liquid on the floor eventually goes to one of the drains.

As to the finish. Power Trowel at a minimum. Anything rougher will be hard to clean and will always be full of dust.

You only get one shot at concrete.

Thanks for the update. Look forward to seeing pics of the finished floor!!! :)

Latest update. Still waiting for the concrete floor to be poured. Put in the forms for the aprons that will connect the 2 overhead doors to the driveway. Today we put the Tyvek on the back wall and then put the siding on. The other 3 sides have to wait until after the floor is poured. Will be working on the soffits next as weather and energy permit!

I still have Tyvek poking out from under the siding on one of my barn additions. It's so simple to go trim it with a knife that I never get around to it!!

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one
S219 you described it perfectly, I usually do trim it during construction as it's just so easy and (I don't know why) rewarding, but never get around to trimming the few areas where my knife catches the wood grain and takes a little detour away from the bottom closure or "rat guard " as some call it.
The building looks great bm:thumbsup:

Our Shop is Light Stone with Charcoal gray roof and wainscoat. My wife picked the colors. I wanted barn red/charcoal. The other day we were driving up the road toward our buildings and she asked how hard it would be to change the Light Stone to Barn Red...... So,,,, I have a project for next Spring....
