Guys, I'm sympathetic to your plight..However, go easy on the dealers that participate here...This issue has only been out there for a few weeks. Give Kubota a chance to respond. I'm certain that they will address this as they always do when the issue is severe...They replaced seats on BX23's because they weren't positioned perfectly (I missed the ability to take advantage of that one sadly)...I paid a ton for both of my Kubotas and I'd be ticked too...My previous RTV500 had some new machine issues and Kubota took care of them...Go easy, just sayin'....I have no connection whatsoever to Kubota or Messik, I'm just a fellow owner.

New stuff almost always have bugs and hopefully this one is isolated and quickly correctable...Give them a chance.

There seem to be a few that I know of that don't have this issue so it may very well be isolated to a certain run of production and that will take some time to hunt down..If they don't resolve this quickly, I'd ask them to take it back...

If you already own one and have this problem, stay on your dealer. If you don't, let the process run it's course.

Bad-mouthing accomplishes nothing

Tailrotor...my intention was not to back you up but to make the point that it is not a wear or abuse issue but an out of the box problem.

Timswi....I didn't intend to bad mouth and don't feel that I have. I was just making a point. If they (Kubota) are going to try to justify it as the way it was designed then there is no way I want it. Also, making an adjustment in the front end will not fix the play in the rear wheels. You mention that there are a few you know of that don't have the problem. Have they jacked their machines up and checked? There have been two or three I know of who did so and in fact found out there was play in the rear wheels.

ETA: one other thing. They say the old machines had play in the rear wheels. Mine did not. Jack yours up and see if it does

I've had mine jacked up recently and there's no play..Mine's a 2009 though..

I wasn't referring to any one individual, what I'm saying is that venting here accomplishes little..Bringing the complaint to the dealer and Kubota itself is far more effective.

No back story here either....I bought my RTV and right away started hearing noises around turns and especially running through deep snow. I had it maybe 2 and half weeks and put 10 hours on it. I had my dealer send a tech out and we jacked it up and found the major wheel play at all four wheels. I am also a mechanic and I have never come across anything like this design ever. The front control arms should have no more movement than a good solid bushing will allow...The control arms on this thing literally slid back and forth on the bolts forward and back at least 3/8 of an inch which by any standard is ridiculous and unacceptable. The back moved just like whats showed in the video posted and you could literally see the aluminum hub assembly moving around with the wheel. Like I have said before I was shocked at the fact these ever left the factory this way.
And how Messick is saying they dont see it hardly at all is amazing to me because my dealer has seen it on every new machine they have and they are a big dealer with 4 stores in my area.
My dealer said they took pictures and video of all the issues and sent it to Kubota and just yesterday they had a visit from some techs from Kubota and they basically came in and took a few apart and did their own documentation on the problem. So they are very aware and my dealer said they are on it and the ball is in their court as of now. Just have to wait and see what they come up with.
The thing that bothers me is that they are still selling them as they are. They have already turned my machine around and sold it to someone else. He said Kubota advised them to sell them as they were and there wasnt a safety concern and to just run them as is.
I disagree with that but I cant complain because at least my dealer took care of me.....Of course he has people lining up to buy them so I dont think its much of an issue for him.
Im thinking about buying a new older model 1100 as he has a few left in stock.

Thanks rapracing for backing me up!! Sorry to hear about your machine. I hope they get a fix for this soon for everyones sake!!

And if not I promise I will continue to fight the fight. Until somebody bans me from this site or Kubota comes to my place of work and says ok show us and fixes my works unit.

My name is on the line here after convincing my CEO to by a 30k RTV with heavy hydraulic snow plow, salt spreader, strobe, work lights, all,the bells and whistles. And I tell him now the wheels are falling off he wanted to buy a Polaris. He's not impressed!!

oh we have, just not in a way that we've seen it effect the performance or reliability of the machine. I agree it a bit disconcerting and seems like it should not be that way. Until we see failures or problems I'm not so sure what the fuss is about. There are thousands of these out by this point, if it was really that big of an issue we'd have known about this long before now. A more official response will come with time I am sure.

At Messick's. I really appreciate you input. I am not trying to give anyone a hard time, I hope you understand that. I talked to my dealer today and I'm not sure what to do at this point. They have my old machine and will bring it back if that is what I want. I hate to do that because I really like this new machine, other than the play in the rear wheels. I sent them videos of the movement in both the front and rear. The jacked up a unit on their floor this morning and it does the same thing as mine. They have assured me that Kubota will step up and take care of issues.

I had jacked mine up again this morning and the play in the rear doesn't seem to have changed. 11 hrs the first time and 18 today. I did find the play in the front. It appears that maybe they either need to make the mount portion of the control arm (a-frame) a little wider or put some bushings in. That should solve the front end problem.

Not sure what to do now? Guess I need to make a decision

Your not sure what the fuss is about? The camber and toe in on those rear wheels must be going crazy when your off road, or on road when torque is applied. It just seems weird to have wobbly wheels applying power to the ground.

I tried looking up parts diagram but I'm on an apple..so couldn't look. what is exactly back there at the hub/transaxle connection that could have that much play?

image.jpgHere you go it's the aluminum housing that has all the play were it is mounted top and bottom.

This is for the rear wheel play.
